**. A shot from our first trip to Kenya in August 2004 and the first time I used a digital camera, a very basic point and shoot . My only regret about the trip was I missed a lot of shots I would have managed with a better camera. When we went back in 2010 I was much better equipped . Still I will never forget seeing the Big cats and elephants in the wild for the first time I don’t need photographs to remember the thrill of that experience .

This was taken at Lake Nakuru I was trying to photographs the flamingoes but this Marabou stork managed to get in front of the pretty birds . Actually if you look into the mass of birds there are also at least three Pelicans

In Marys opinion Marabou storks are the ugliest bird on the planet . This is probably about first impressions. I remember the drive from the airport to downtown Nairobi it was so exciting to think we were in Africa and everything looked so different it was total sensory overload . As we drove along there were landfill sites at the roadside and they were full of scavenging Marabou storks. Only at that time we did not know their name they just looked like birds from hell. Interestingly this Stork is sometimes called the "undertaker bird" due to its shape from behind.

I have always had a fascination with space. I even wrote a song about it a while back. In my opinion, it's one of the most amazing things there is.

Went for a walk last night and we were the only humans out there for a while. The gulls seemed to be enjoying their turn as a very low tide exposed a lot of shellfish and other sea food.

Thanks very much for visiting and I really enjoy your opinions in a comment.

Oh and more info for the flickr autotagger: The pond might just be called a lake but not a sea

A big part of the Babberspolder quarter in Vlaardingen is renewed. Older apartment blocks and houses from the 50s are demolished and new ones erected. Although it is now a nice place to live I find the renewal a bit to much. In my opinion it was nicer that they had kept some of the old buildings as a historic layer. Now it looks as a standerd new housing estate. The church in the centre of the picture is one of the few things they have kept.

Hello my Flickr friends!

Another Monday and another red day at Color My World Daily Group. And the theme at Macro Mondays is: on a coin. I must admit that this was by far the most rules exhaustive theme.

And since I’m collecting coins (yes, if you don’t know yet; I’m a hoarder … but I have other charming qualities which makes me an unique and lovable hoarder, at least it is what I like to think about myself…), I decided to go with an old 10 French francs coin. The main raison is that I’m very nostalgic about French francs era but also because they have a very beautiful words written on the edge, which makes them very interesting.

I choose the word “égalité”, which means equality. In my opinion it is a little bit ironic since money is about everything except equality, don’t you think ?…It is like this funeral home advertisement we had here in Montreal, few years ago, begging us to be careful and stay well during holidays … Do you feel the irony here?? But in the case of 10 French Francs it is a French national motto. The whole inscription is: Liberté, Fraternité, Égalité.

My main subject standing on my 10 Francs coin is my tiny red pencil (once again this is a part of another growing collection of tiny pencils... #hoarderlife). It is a few millimeters smaller than the coin diameter (2,5cm).

And since we all know by now that money, doesn't grow on trees (raise your hand if your parents were saying that exact phrase, it exists even in Polish !!!), I have to run to my office!! Another video meeting and then I will start my day of money making at home!

P.S I think that the phrase "money doesn't grow on trees" should be written on the edge of coins worldwide, as a motto for all kids to learn !!! Who is with me on that one ?

Have an amazing Monday my friends !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and healthy!! And see you soon on Flickr !!

“The Great Translation Movement” : twitter.com/tgtm_official

This is a group of young Chinese people who risked their lives to set up their own website for Chinese instant brainwashing news translating from Chinese to English, they have all been banned in the Chinese sphere of influence, they are often threatened by the officials, one volunteer translator has disappeared for many days.

An online anti-war movement launched during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. It seeks to expose pro-Russian, anti-American, anti-Japanese, anti-Western, and racially discriminatory sentiments in China by translating government propaganda and anti-western public opinion found on the Chinese internet into other languages, including English, Japanese, and Korean. Through such a movement, the participants aim to invoke the conscience of the Chinese People.

I hope that western friends pay more attention to them.🙏

Opinions about Favoriten, Vienna's 10th district, are divided: those who live there think it's great, those who don't turn up their noses. I have lived in the corner house in the middle for twelve years.

If you want to get an impression of this friendly, vibrant, and colourful district, but which also has its gloomy side, just have a look at the album I created about it!

You'd be hard pushed to find a better looking summer migrant than the Redstart in my opinion. I spent some time yesterday morning with these gorgeous birds and felt privileged to do so.

Fuggita via, o meglio, portata via troppo presto.

My humble opinion. Window light with silver reflector. I cleaned up his eyes digitally although they weren't too bad. Otherwise it is a mild edit and slight vignette because edges were bright.

We all hold some opinion on Australian White Ibis; Bin Chicken to many, it is also an amazing bird: beautiful when landing against the light, a trooper with tough surviving skills and, as I witnessed from a hide last Sunday, a caring parent. This chick was thoroughly cleaned by its mother, with special attention given to its backside. Pity - just like its human equivalent, it will not remember...

Joe! vaya rio.

Go down from the Val de Ruda, from Beret or from the Forau de Aigüalluts, there is a source for all opinions. I opt for that of the Val de Ruda, thus, seen geographically in its morphology. Well, it goes down like someone who doesn't want to and after passing all of Naut and Baix Aran it enters France where its course takes an easterly direction until it reaches Toulouse where, surprisingly, it turns 180º and crosses the French Midi until it reaches Bordeaux, ending in the Atlantic. Joe! wow river.

Your opinion, which do you prefer? Unfortunately, I like them both.
