From ca. 2003, this is the very first Linux distribution I ever tried, I recently came across the CD I received on the cover of some magazine all those years ago, and so decided to install it in VirtualBox for a trip back in time. It is ancient by todays standards, has Mozilla 1.4 (no Firefox) and KDE 3.1 and Linux kernel 2.4. I really like KDE 3.x.
There was an old Nec powermate lying in the dust hosting that piece of xxxx aka Windows XP. Then came an idea, may be a bad one. Why not installing FreeBSD 11 on this old hardware (1Gb ram / 30Gb hdd / no dedicated graphics / Intel Celeron 2.4GHz)
Virtual PC g.ho.st looks very nice indeed, but I need to test it more thorough to get a full impression of it.

I have finally chosen an operating system, after trying to reinstall windows and the Product Key not working, it was the final nail in the coffin for Windows.
Welcome Linux, Goodbye Windows!
Xfce4 install just finished. Time to write some lines into /etc/rc.conf and .xinitrc and may be add a suitable config for the keyboard (typing password with the wrong keymap is not funny) inside /usr/local/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/

Dogsat for Carla tonight and finally opened up Windows 7 (which I had fused into my hard drive at the beginning of the year). It felt nice for a few hours to take a break and do nothing, save watch season one of Frasier (my favorite TV show of all time) and play solitaire on my Mac. Came down with a migraine tonight, probably from all of the stress of hell week. Ick. Hopefully sleep will cure it.
