32/365: Using one of the hearts from the teddy photo, they are from my bathroom, I have quite a collection of hearts...no surprise there ;) If you look closely you will see a heart shape on the mug too.
Now I've posted this and looked at it again I think the mug should be a little higher and slightly more to the left. However, I've drunk the tea and put everything away so that's something for another day...also, I seem to be drinking a lot of tea! ;)

The bonds we create with others are significant, but the most important connection we can establish is within ourselves. Sometimes, we need to let go of the dreams we formed as children or young adults and start anew, using the experience and foundation we’ve built while growing up. When I refer to growing up, I specifically mean our forties. I believe that in our forties, we truly discover what we love; before that, it's mostly a process of research and information gathering.
P.S. I didn't exactly choose or want the direction where life took me… but if that's what I've got, I'm gonna ROCK it!

am posting this image as a prayer for Light to find all hearts..
for peace and harmony to prevail.
Lebanon is a sunny land, vine-laden and fragrant with cedars.. its essence is peace..
but, because of a quirk of geography, Lebanon has become yet again a sacrificial lamb.
it was a mere 4 months ago that the people of Lebanon, from their own resources and hearts, realized a taste of freedom..

those and all images from Lebanon, including this one, were taken by my forever friend Jim Billings.. (seen in the image "Honey from the Rock").
these are ancient Roman ruins in the Bekaa Valley.
the day of my brother's heart surgery, on the waiting room television i first saw the flames and smoke from bombs darken the Beirut sky... i knew my friend was there.
Jim & his younger son Zee are amongst those now in Lebanon who are experiencing the horror of bombings. (his 16 year old daughter's flight into Beirut was turned away just as the bombs fell and tore out the airport on the first day of this catastrophe. Julia was coming home all alone, her flight was rerouted.)
though their story is personal to me, it is just one of millions of stories happening there right now...
next to all the destruction, death and fear - yet again - for the Lebanese people .. i find myself caring, perhaps disproportionately, about all the animals there who are suffering.. and the pets of those being evacuated (including Jim's 2 very old dogs) many of which will probably have to be left there..
divine streams of light from sky to earth, as in this image: Jimmy had told me that one of his dear Lebanese friends calls them "the hand of God"...
it brings to mind/heart something called The Great Invocation, taught me by a beautiful teacher long ago ~ here is part:

Ilex is a genus of 400 to 600 species of flowering plants in the family Aquifoliaceae, and the only living genus in that family. The species are evergreen and deciduous trees, shrubs, and climbers from tropics to temperate zones worldwide. Originally the name of "ilex" was that of the european species (Ilex aquifolium ), many representatives of the genus Ilex were also called by the common name Holly because of the obvious resemblance. In Roman times, the Roman people in Latin language originally designated as Ilex the evergreen oak, named today scientifically (Quercus ilex). The leaves of the Holly actually recall those of the oak. Also Ilex have small berries named drupes. The fruit is a berry, usually red but is red to brown to black, rarely green or yellow.
