On 17/07/98 37097 growls towards Colton Jn with 6S62 1828 Doncaster Belmont-Aberdeen running an annoying 158 mins early... Not good for the light angle but I guess had it been ontime, shadows would have been the issue...

-I really enjoy working on dark backgrounds, the colored pencils take on a whole different feel. This is our colt Oakley, who is a reined cow-horse. His registered name comes from his sire and dam. He is a red roan, with a beautiful shiny coat, full fluffy thick mane, and some unique markings. I had the opportunity to watch him be delivered to growing up.

A golden new era in space cooperation begins with a flawless countdown and the ontime liftoff of the Space Shuttle Discovery on Mission STS-60. Liftoff from Launch Pad 39A occurred at 7:10:01 a.m., EST. The first Shuttle mission of 1994 carries the first Russian cosmonaut, Sergei K. Krikalev, to fly on the Space Shuttle. The veteran space traveler joins astronauts N. Jan Davis and Ronald M. Sega, mission specialists; Franklin R. Chang-Diaz, payload commander: Kenneth S. Reightler, pilot; and Charles F. Bolden Jr., mission commander, on an eight day journey. Primary payloads of the 60th Space Shuttle flight are the SPACEHAB-2 laboratory and the Wake Shield Facility.

What a little oddity this booklet is. An obvious subject to remind firemen of - the 'good way' to fire a steam locomotive to allow for best performance of the locomotive, the most economic performance and even the reduction in heavy, black smoke that could (and did) lead to public complaint.
That said the style is a real mix - echoes of early 'Puffin Picture Books" but cruder and the fact it shows no real obvious 'ownership' of British Railways. At the time the Commission did issue many of the Railway Executive's publications but there was agenral house style that this does not conform to and to see the words 'Railway Division" is very unusual.
Scania WA13GEY, Fleet 15899, was my drive out on the 2 route today, and I was probably one of the last Hop2 buses to complete the route. I was ontime on my way back at Teignmouth, but took another 3 hours to get to Exeter. The hills between Teignmouth & Dawlish were a challenge, but made it. 1st March 2018
