Who needs a backpack, right?
My teenage daughter insisted that she would use a really large purse she loved as her backpack...I didn't think it was a good idea...I know her, she is like me, she likes to be prepared for everything that comes her way and that means we lug around way too many things. Just how many pens, pencils, papers, highlighters, scissors, binders, books, tape, glue sticks,and pouches for all of the above, can one thirteen year old fit in one over sized purse before she has to go the chiropractor weekly?
Well, you got it...we will be backpack shopping later today. Two weeks in she thinks maybe it might not have been such a great idea...lol!?!? I am afraid it is only the beginning of the rebellious, my-Mom-doesn't-know-what-she-is-talking-about stage.
Of course all of the school supply sales are probably over now... :-(
week 50 -- something new of myself and for myself
i was hesitant to post just this outline, as it's currently missing one of the most essential elements of the overall concept. this is week 50, and it's only the beginning... imagine three red threads held from the beak and flowing down past the belt line, each with their own tiny, different endings -- next session! of course, it wouldn't be me without a touch of red.

Over the next two days we are getting some snowfall - expecting anywhere between 5-10"+ of the white stuff. Should be a frigid evening tomorrow (-4?) but the kids will LOVE the snow! Light and fluffy (for now).
This is my childhood Glitter 'n Gold Jem doll. My JemCon friend Sean helped me out by giving me a new bow for her hair, and I somehow managed to restyle her crazy little ponytail. I think she looks golden again!
Although I prefer the non-smiling 1st year Jem over the smiling 2nd year faces, I do think Glitter 'n Gold Jem has the prettiest face of the 3 smiling Jem dolls. She's very glamorous with her red lips and blush. The tinsel hair and gold makeup limit her fashion choices somewhat, but if the outfit's got gold in it - WOW!! She totally rocks it!!

"Only The Beginning" is, ironically, the name of the last 1st Year On-Stage Fashion that I bought. Now I have all 8!!
I never felt like there was much to this one, but now that I have it, I really like it. The produced fashion looks very different from the boxart which is very different from the cartoon version of the fashion. I think the blue cartoon version suits Aja, but the doll fashion with its pinky bodysuit and glittery gold scarf and glove look better on Jem!
Day 244-Finally finished with all this building and whatnot today which was very nice.
Phase 2 coming up, having to get Mouse's furniture.
