Inspired by the success of a Spring Break teen art intervention program at Satellite Gallery, VSB teacher Lindsey Foell decided to partner gallery to create a new grade 12 course for BC students: Art and Design Studies 12.

 

The new course is designed to blend theoretical and practical art skills by through interactive learning activities and field studies in the field of art and design. Local sites such as the Museum of Anthropology (UBC), Presentation House Gallery, and the Morris and Helen Belkin Gallery (UBC), as well as public art, community art, places of worship, commercial galleries, artist-run centres and cinema have been incorporated into the foundation of the course.
