A sweet domestic scene from the first roll through my 1936 Contax III, shot on Eastman 5222 Double-XX, developed in Rodinal 1:50.

Everybody's searching for home

Staring at a hole in the sky

Poor man waiting on a break

Rich man looking for a ticket to buy

Something ties us together

All colors of the same race

Shadows of the same face

Looking up

Much has changed since that day, the Midland Bank on the corner of Stephenson Place (1867-69 by Edward Holmes) is now a Waterstones having had considerable alteration in 1992/93 (Malcolm Payne Design Group) Traffic no longer uses New St and Corporation is one way in the opposite direction. Why traffic signs?

"Because me feel like I'm treated like an idiot and I find forms of visual pollution," said 43-year-old Abraham Cleet.

Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." John 14:6 (NLT)

As I finished ONE THOUSAND GIFTS by Ann Voskamp, I was moved by her description of viewing the painting in Musee du Louvre, Paris, of "Supper at Emmaus," completed sometime in 1648, when Rembrandt Van Rijn was approximately 42 years old.

Easter is a highly celebrated season in the Christian church, and this story occurs in Luke 24:13-35 after Christ's resurrection and is one I can relate to as I imagine my being one of those people walking on the road to Emmaus:

On the Road to Emmaus

13 Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles[a] from Jerusalem. 14 They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. 15 As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; 16 but they were kept from recognizing him.

17 He asked them, “What are you discussing together as you walk along?”

They stood still, their faces downcast. 18 One of them, named Cleopas, asked him, “Are you the only one visiting Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?”

19 “What things?” he asked.

“About Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. 20 The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him; 21 but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place. 22 In addition, some of our women amazed us. They went to the tomb early this morning 23 but didn’t find his body. They came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels, who said he was alive. 24 Then some of our companions went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but they did not see Jesus.”

25 He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” 27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.

28 As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus continued on as if he were going farther. 29 But they urged him strongly, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them.

30 When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. 32 They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”

33 They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together 34 and saying, “It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.” 35 Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread."

This modern-day road and it's sign give a clear, unmistakeable message. .

OOPs! I saw 2 different wrong way drivers on this section of Larned street in about 5 minutes. The police pulled along side this one. Maybe we need some different signage or wrong way indicators?

this has to be one of the most scenic one way streets...

Took me a while to come up with something for this topic but here is my picture.

This is how all these stories begin.

Tonight! Its been a long week, but we feel like we have put together a really great show. Please join us tonight 6 - 9pm at OneWay gallery, 140 Boon st. Narragansett, RI.

I have taken these photos in order to use them for 3D modeling. I like mapping images onto surfaces, and putting decals onto them. These photos are raw JPEGs which haven't undergone any treatment at all - no reduction, no re-sizing, no auto contrast or auto levels or anything. Please feel free to grab anything you like and use it for your projects. Some may require cropping and sharpening, colour calibration, etc., but you surely know all that. Best of luck with your projects.
