A regular visitor to London Heathrow by any standards is Cathay Pacific's only Boeing 777 to carry Oneworld colours, no surprise considering Heathrow is a major hub for the Oneworld airline alliance, namely thanks to British Airways and American Airlines major presence at the airport.
Cathay Pacific has a major presence at Heathrow with 5 departures daily from the airport, all Boeing 777-300ER operated. Once upon a time, Boeing 747-400's would regularly operate here but were withdrawn from London service in late 2013, however their numbers are declining at a rapid rate, they have been relegated to regional work. The Boeing 777-300ER and the new Boeing 777-9X which will be delivered new from 2021 will form the back-bone to Cathay's long-haul network.
Papa Lima is one of 43 Boeing 777-300ER's currently in Cathay Pacific's fleet, delivered new to the airline with Oneworld livery in October 2009. She is powered by 2 General Electric GE90-115BL2 engines.
