Give me a head with hair, long beautiful hair
Shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen
Give me down to there, hair, shoulder length or longer
Here baby, there, momma, everywhere, daddy, daddy….
I want long, straight, curly, fuzzy, snaggy, shaggy, ratty, matty
Oily, greasy, fleecy, shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen
Knotted, polka dotted, twisted, beaded, braided
Powered, flowered and confettied
Bangled, tangled, spangled and spahettied…..
Hair, flow it, show it
Long as God can grow, my hair!!

This tiny label that I photographed is located on the BACK of the Morton Salt Container. The little girl measures .5 inches from the top of her umbrella to the heel of her right heel. the one-word, Morton, measures 1.25 " in width.
The Morton Salt girl debuted over a hundred years ago in 1914 and has had updates to her appearance 6 times since then.
She first appeared on the label when the Morton Salt Company introduced the easy-pour spout. This iconic symbol has appeared in cabinets all over the world. Open your spice cabinet and I bet you'll find her on your shelf too.
Was given this sign by my lovely friend Jane. Thought it appropriate for today’s them.
Just keep smiling 😀

A children's annual from 1915.
My Gran bought three volumes - 1914, 1915 and 1916 - from a second-hand bookshop for me when I was ill. I believe she paid sixpence for each book.
When this volume was published the Great War was in full swing, if you can call it that. I think the patched-up doggy refers to the wounded soldiers who began to arrive back from France. In those days the war was omnipresent and children weren't very much protected from the horrors of it.
The books were full of patriotic stories and stories about the Empire. Those were the 'glory days' for England!
Smile on Saturday 'one word' theme.
I ended up with three shots for this week - I chose the first one I took to add to the group.
Descriptive label from a 1.5 lb jar of white sand that is in my collection of props for table-taop photography.
Focus stack (18 images) Shot with single off-camer strobe (Godox AD200Pro/Godox XPro II L trigger), round head, camera right 30 degrees 45 degrees bove table aimed at 8 x 10 inch white reflector camera left, angled toward front of subject, 4 x 5 inch mirror on table surface in front of jar. Reflectors used to minimize hot-spots on label.

A Garrity eight-LED utility light, one of four I bought fifteen years ago. (Amazingly, the Woot.com listing, amusing write-up and all, is still live even though their offer was good for only one day in February, 2009.)
These lights came in very handy back when I was still handling 35mm film for the two film festivals I supported, for film inspection.
The area depicted, if viewed head-on, is under 2½" (63.5mm) square.
