They share everything.
Dollies, nursies, giggles, laughs, and sleep. And maybe they even share their dreams. The secret language of sisters.

Australian slang term
"Galah" is also derogatory Australian slang, synonymous with 'fool' or 'idiot'. Inquiries of Australian countrymen in the 1970s suggest that this is a misunderstanding. It seemed to be that the reference to a 'silly galah' is based on the sheer exuberance of the species and its willingness to indulge in play behaviour - galahs appear completely devoid of "dignified" or calm behaviour to the observer. Max [at Manly Vale WRL, 1977] held that galahs are very self-confident and have a great zest for life, and seem not in the least disturbed in anything they may care to do or be caught doing. It is very common to see them hanging by one leg from telephone or power lines in a rainstorm getting soaking wet and screeching with delight. There are many reports of them tobogganing down the corrugated roofs of outback buildings. A detailed, yet comedic description of the Australian slang term can be found in the standup comedy performance of Paul Hogan, titled Stand Up Hoges.

I think I have committed to having a "word" for 2011. This word has been bouncing around in my brain for the past week or so, and I have a lot of ideas around it. I think it will have a lot of meaning for me in 2011...both for the space in my life as well as the four walls that I live within.
It snowed again here in NYC today. I saw this pristine sidewalk while out walking Willow this morning and thought it was as good a time as any to write down my word for all the world to see!

A mulher que escutas na janela do tempo
lavra a dor com um vibrante sorriso interior
cantando a melodia do não dito
com a língua dos silêncios encontrada
a chama desse corpo aceitou o infinito azul
e a janela solitária entreaberta revelando o ar
é agora uma porta aberta para o mar
descobrindo a magia do tempo horizontal

Log Your Memory Challenge #4
Inspired by the "Project: Me" ladies, I decided to do this based on a blog post I did at OneWord.org, they have homework assignments for you to do on your word of the year. My journaling is an answer to the question:
QUESTION #1: Take a few moments and journal about the type of person you want to be at the end of 2011. How would you want this person to be described? What are some characteristics that would define this person? For those who have already chosen your One Word, what effect do you hope this word will have on your character? How will you have to posture yourself to make that change a reality?
Journaling:
I want to be fabulous, sexy, independent, poetic, whimsical, amazing, awe-inspiring, imaginative, cool, phenomenal, wondrous, wild, rare. I want to be affectionate, caring, embracing, cheerful, thoughtful, courageous, devoted, faithful, forgiving, involved, self-confident, dynamic, fatigue free, graceful, idea driven, living from the depths of life, personable, spiritual, strong, resourceful, curious, friendly, gratitude, joyful, loving, adventurous, desirous, willing, I want this word to have the effect on my character that I get out more and live, that I am more self-giving, that I am less depressed. It will take personal effort to make this a reality.
