"By ceasing for a moment to consider my own wants, I have begun to learn better what I really wanted. When I attempted...to describe our spiritual longings, I was omitting one of their most curious characteristics. We usually notice it just as the moment of vision dies away, as the music ends or as the landscape loses the celestial light...For a few minutes we have had the illusion of belonging to that world. Now we wake to find that it is no such thing...And part of the bitterness that mixes with the sweetness of that message is due to the fact that it so seldom seems to be a message intended for us, but something we have overheard...[And] we pine...And surely, from this point of view, the promise of glory, in the sense described, becomes highly relevant to our deep desire."
(C.S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory)
I didn't intend to blur this; my exposure was a little slower than I expected. I fell in love with it though, and I think this caught the vintage look I wanted to find today!

One word
silently slipped
among the whispering leaves of your world.
One unguarded look
and all your life,
suddenly,
starkly silhouetted
against the dark totality of sky
between your every branch.

Prickly, a bit like me, particularly at the moment! And I liked it. I think it looks quite beautiful, but I'm not sure why:-)

My sisters and I made these blessing rings one time when I was home in TX. Mine is full of cards that wonderful people have given me. It helps me to remember how much I am loved.

My husband I were married in 88 and he is still the Love of my Life. I will never forget the day we picked out our rings and the day he gave me mine. I also wear a simple gold band that belonged to my dear grandmother. I love glancing down at it and smiling at remembering what a wonderful woman she was.
she believes in fairires. she believes she can fly. she believes in magic. she believes in the unseen. she believes a kiss can make everything better. i believe in her.
