Took this photo in November, but I re- edited it as I thought about my one word for January. Kind of belated but this month has been busy in both good and bad ways and I'm trying to remember to breathe and not hold my breath as I do when I get anxious or upset.

This stack of rocks just says "zen" to me. :)

I'm still busy and shouldn't really be on here. I just wanted to upload a photo for my "one word for 2011" before the end of January, which is in about ten minutes.

My word is "complete."

I have said this before, but I am a disorganized person and a procrastinator. I have hopes for my future and am lucky to occasionally have wonderful opportunities fall at my feet, but I usually sabotage myself and my chances by letting things slide and leaving projects unfinished.

My goal this year is to work on completing some of the projects that will help me move forward. Thus -- complete.

These stamped envelopes are the perfect photo for this word as I am embarrassed by how many things have been left undone in my life by not mailing the letter. I can write letters and checks and fill out forms, etc., but getting the letter into an envelope, addressing it, putting a current stamp on it, and sticking it in the mailbox is another thing entirely. I have ridiculous amounts of unmailed mail sitting in piles and even more in my mind (mail I ought to send), and often it gets me into trouble (unpaid bills) or burns bridges (unsent thank you cards).. I feel a sense of accomplishment and completion seeing these completed pieces of mail.
