Macro Mondays: One Word

5x macro of the word on a dictionary page.

I felt all flushed with fever, embarrassed by the crowd

I felt he found my letters and read each one out loud

I prayed that he would finish but he just kept right on...

It was a good day ;) Got to "dog-nap" these two sweethearts for the afternoon.

The what is it group was very curious to see unprocessed and a normal photograph of the subject for this series. I processed them the way I did because it was the texture the light source I was interested in.

I think it's closed now!

this SS oneword challenge is really pushing me this month. "Beautiful" is such an over-used word, especially among photographers. We're always pursuing beauty. How can you really encapsulate "beautiful" in a photo?

Some people say that I am different because I don't conform to what they perceive as normal. This I do not deny.

I have always said that I am a little crazy, a little twisted,

or is it just being myself...........

Days of Shooting – Week 12 (w/b 24th September) One Word: Yes, just one word will make your photo for each day of this week …. whatever that one word is then please ensure that it is the focal point of the image. The “one word” should be the title of your photograph and where possible each day of the week should be of a different “one word” subject.

Sunrise on the mountain.............

Cliff-fringed Mount Zamia, in the Minerva Hills National Park is located near Springsure in central QLD. Spectacular jagged peaks provide a scenic backdrop at our campsite. The mountain was formed by volcanic activity millions of years ago, The peak to the left is the iconic Virgin Rock. Its name is derived from the figure appearing in the town-facing side of the rock that looks like the Virgin Mary cradling the baby Jesus. From our campsite you can spot these figures better at night when Virgin Rock is floodlit for all to see.

Chanukah is early this year, which is a wonderful thing for us. We celebrate everything, including two December birthdays, and the more it's all spread out the better :-) We had latkes for dinner. They were delicious. I think I finally have the recipe down.

I am doing Tracey Clark's Picture the Holidays for the month of December. Today's prompt was Holding On to Gratitude. Seeing as I just finished a month of gratitude, I have to say I groaned a little. But here goes...

Today I am grateful for the symbolism of light. Light symbolizes many things, but to me it mainly symbolizes hope. I have never fully understood how important hope is in every moment of our lives until I experienced, this year, someone very close to me lose all hope. I am looking forward to this December as a month of light and hope.

Oh, and Holly just reminded me:

The #reverb10 prompt of the day is: One Word.

"Encapsulate the year 2010 in one word. Explain why you’re choosing that word. Now, imagine it’s one year from today, what would you like the word to be that captures 2011 for you?"

Well, I'm going to say "hope." Because that's about all I had. I hope 2011's word will be "healing."

I am not sure I will do the #reverb10 project all the way through, but I'm going to give it a shot.

This is my youngest son Zander. He is super sweet :-) He's blind in his left eye.. that's why it's smaller then his right eye. He was born like this. The doctors wanted to do surgery to make it look "normal" but we decided to let him make that choice when he gets older. We think he is beautiful just the way he is!

I took this shot with the Macro lens.. makes a lovely portrait lens.. don't you think :-)
