Finding Peace on the Ganges: Debi Bradway, Lake Oswego, Oregon

Debi caught this image on the river’s edge of the Ganges in the city of Varanasi in India in January of this year. Debi tells OneClickPix that people come from all over on a pilgrimage to cremate their loved ones and/or bathe in the sacred river. “For them, it’s the heart of their faith; for us, a superlative cultural experience” Debi said. Using a Nikon 5100 with a Tamron 18-270 lens, Debi had just witnessed a cremation ceremony when on the way to her rickshaw noticed this man sitting on the public stairs among the crowds of worshippers. Debi says, “The faces of the people in India are amazing. They speak for themselves showing years of hard living yet they always communicate an attitude of contentment and peacefulness despite the hardships they have had to endure.”

Tonight the Whitehorse Inn (one of our Locals) closed for Business. Land tax for this site was $1440 a year in 1998 and is now $40,000 a year and they simply can't afford to run it. Another old pub gone to make way for office blocks. Hooray. Yay development!

"One Day, One Click"

Fallout: London is a 2024 total conversion mod developed by Team FOLON.

It is based on Fallout 4, the 2015 action role-playing game by Bethesda Softworks. The mod takes place in a post-apocalyptic rendition of London, and is notable for its departure from the series' typical United States setting.

Elvis’ Chruch: JL Simmons, Arizona

It’s only been a year since JL gave up film and started using a Canon 7D with a Canon 28-135 lens. On assignment for a photography class, JL caught this church, a prop in the Elvis Presley movie classic Charro!, on one of the rare clear days in the dust storm-prone Apache Junction in Arizona. Since the winds cause near constant dust swirls around this mountain, JL tells OCP that “timing is everything! The surreal feeling of the ol’ West is what I get from the image…where it is so easy be lost in time. My original thought for printing this image was black and white, but while that may work…it was after seeing the color print and “OH” of a metallic print that completely won me over. (NICE WORK! OCP)”

Paris Building: James Dunn, San Francisco, California

This as yet untitled image comes to us via Paris, France. James shot this, his very first attempt at landscape/architectural photography, using his Canon Powershot SD900 Digital Elph. This was taken in late September of last year in the middle of the day, in what James calls a “very photogenic city”. James was inspired by the water fountain and the very dramatic cloud formations in the sky at the time. James is now hooked on landscape/architectural photography. Little wonder that, ‘ey?
