On the basis of the story Cinderella of the Brothers Grimm, Božena Němcová wrote 1850 this farytale. It was filmed in 1973 in Moritzburg near Dresden.

In the fairy tale The Spirit in the Glass of the Brothers Grimm acts a conflict between father and son - he studies medicine - as a framework act. Der Geist gibt ihm einen kleinen Lappen, der – auf die Vorstellungswelt im Mittelalter Bezug nehmend – Metalle in Silber verwandeln und Wunden heilen kann. Did a double exposure image of the yellow brick road, floating legs of the Tin Woodman and tea from the Mad Hatter.
Then discovered that I was inventing a whole new fairy tale.
I was so sure that Alice walked down that road.
Turned out it was Dorothy :-)
Moved on to something a little simpler.
The Ugly Duckling is on the fairytale list provided by the moderators.
