Macro Monday - On a Coin
39/100: 100 x Challenge - Flowers
39/100 - 100 Flowers 2020
I placed the ten pence coin with a tiny bottle from my craft stash (measuring 15mm high x 4mm wide) filled with gypsophila, on some white muslin to add a bit of texture. I still felt it needed a bit more texture so added a texture courtesy of Kerstin Frank www.flickr.com/photos/kerstinfrank-design/34714524056/in/...
I am so grateful that artists are kind enough to share their textures.
I usually take the opacity of the texture down a lot further but felt this needed a bit more. HMM
5mm x 20mm (0.20" x 0.79") fuses.
For the record, two fuses of the style shown here costs about US$1.50, or six quarters.

Susan B. Anthony dollar minted in 1979, the year my daughter (now a strong woman) was born! Susan B, Anthony lived in Rochester, NY where I now live. My daughter and I both love cats! Thanks for a fun theme!
UK 10 Pence and fly
On a Coin---MacroMondays
I find a connection in the New Pence coin (UK) and fishing. In 1653 The Compleat Angler was was published by Izaack Walton; the book on the sport of fly fishing were extremely popular in English literature. Handmade fly.
Friendship ring and Krugerrand.
This is an old friendship ring bought for my daughter from a very dear friend.
The Krugerrand was left to my husband from his father a long time ago.
Two things we cannot part with even today.
The photo was originally for Macro Mondays Gold theme.

Around the beginning of the Great Depression in late 1920, an apple company decided to sell apples to people on credit, who in turn sold the apples. Five cent apple sellers could be found throughout street corners in New York.
The apple selling scheme had several benefits: It helped the apple industry move surplus produce that might never get purchased otherwise, and it helped men earn some money. But more than that, it gave men a small sense of pride. By selling apples instead of begging, the unemployed men still seemed to be in charge of their own destinies. Photographs of men selling the apples remain one of the most well-known symbols of the Depression today.

Something different for Macro Mondays today. Haven't even looked at my railroad stuff in the last few years, but for putting things "on a coin" you need to get down to a smaller scale.
This is N-scale or 1:160, a model from Wiking, slightly modified - I've took a 0.5mm drill and a Dremel to make the steering-blob to a steering wheel, and drilled real holes in the towbar.
The coin is a Groschen (10 Pfennig) from 1949, Bank Deutscher Länder, later on it was Bundesrepublik Deutschland on our coins.
...aaaand the moderation needed 15 hours to realise that the rear of the tractor exceeds the rim of the coin. This image was removed in the middle of the night, so no chance to re-up anything. One hour of work for a kick in the groin. Thank you. not.

Amor eterno ¿ en la riqueza y en la pobreza?
La pareja y el arroz simboliza el amor ,sobre una moneda de dos euros para simbolizar la pobreza, he rodeado al escena con mas monedas para representar la riqueza.
______________
Eternal love in wealth and poverty?
The couple and rice symbolizes love, on a coin of two euros to symbolize poverty, I have surrounded the scene with more coins to represent wealth.

A sweetcorn kernel on the top of a 20 pence piece. The coin measures just over 2cm across.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites.
I've always preferred the understated. Always avoided the brash, the common. Always liked the different, the unusual, even the weird. The more interesting. Not for me, seeking the 'likes' of others, or needing to conform to be one of the in-crowd. Unfortunately, now so much of our world is fashioned on looks and imagery. It's all so transient. And so shallow: discarded just as quickly as it is obtained, just as soon as a brighter object takes our eyes. Fortunately I think that so much of what's best in the world remains hidden from the masses.
Not many things last like the written word: pen on paper. But we don't see handwriting so much these days. But, if you think about it, it is truly one of the most special things you will ever see. Text and email won't have the same longevity, and certainly don't have the same character. And text and email have literally no individuality. Even if you add emojis! It's still true to say the written word will last longer than the greatest memory! I know my own handwriting has worsened through lack of use. Will there come a time when we forget how to hold a pen and write a sentence? So much for the three R's, HMM ?
There is a story to this photo. I am an Odd Fellow, and years ago we visited a German Odd Fellow Lodge where we met a guy who gave us an old English penny. If we would be traveling alone, and sitting somewhere at a bar, we could lay this penny on the counter and tell a friendly guy that this was a "wander pfennig" meaning a travel penny. In this way one would have a start of a discussion. The three links are a sign for Odd Fellows.
