The second St Tropez finalized in light blue metallic was ready in spring 1990 for the promotion session PBB got started then. The roadster was appearing in a couple of publications in early nineties car magazines and Esprit books and the PBB “St Tropez Spyder conversion” sales brochure.

It was made out of a 1983 TurboEsprit S3 with an hc engine fitted. Wheelarches front and aft are widened. Five spoke three piece Compomotive rims in 7x16” and 10x16” with wider rubbers give the car a unique feature. Rim design was adapted from the Ferrari 308.

Paul Bailey owned the convertible a couple of years himself before he sold it to an enthusiast, who took care for a very long time. The car left UK as nobody there picked up the opportunity while this rare beast was up for sale on a Club Lotus Meeting in Donington Park.

Böhmerland (1925-1939) ist eine ehemalige Motorradmarke aus der Tschechoslowakei. Konstrukteur und Hersteller dieser exklusiven Motorräder war Albin Hugo Liebisch.

Von dem abgebildeten kurzen 700 ccm Sportmodell existiert weltweit nur dieses Einzelstück.

KARL ZACH, 1948 in Liezen (A) geboren, erlernte den Beruf des KFZ-Technikers und trat 1967 in die Fußstapfen seines Vaters Karl und seines Bruders Kurt ein.

Mit einer Norton-Rennmaschine begann für ihn eine ebenso erfolgreiche wie ereignisreiche Laufbahn in der Szene des Motorradrennsports.
Er fuhr in Österreich, bei Bergrennen auf den Gaisberg, Alpl, Tauplitzalm und Stainz sowie bei Flugplatzrennen in Langenlebarn und Innsbruck. Neben Straßenrennen in Schwanenstadt und Großraming folgten auch internationale Starts: Imola, Mugello (IT), Norisring, Hockenheim, Nürburgring (D) und in Brünn (eh. CSSR).

Für den 1972 gegründeten Motorsportverein „MSV Liezen" war Zach als Fahrer auf Ducati und Yamaha erfolgreich. Motorschäden und „Asphaltbekanntschaften" waren leider nicht selten. Bedenkt man, dass diese Rennen oft auf normalen, kaum abgesicherten Bundesstraßen stattfanden, mit Spitzengeschwindigkeiten von 274 km/h, so kann man wohl von Glück reden, dass der Liezener Rennfahrer zehn Stürze ohne Schäden "absolvierte".

Zachs Bilanz nach 17 Jahren Rennsport, von 1967 bis 1983:

121 Starts - 12 Siege - 14 zweite und 16 dritte Plätze. Mit den Höhepunkten seiner Karriere, Staatsmeister 1979 auf Yamaha in der Klasse 750 ccm und 4-mal Vizestaatsmeister, hat er sich in der "Ewigen Bestenliste" Österreichs fest verankert.

Karl Zach war bis 2025 in der Oldtimer-Szene auf NSU, Norton und Yamaha unterwegs. Beim Oldtimer GP in Schwanenstadt beendete er seine langjährige Motorsportkarriere.

KARL ZACH, 1948 in Liezen (A) geboren, erlernte den Beruf des KFZ-Technikers und trat 1967 in die Fußstapfen seines Vaters Karl und seines Bruders Kurt ein.

Mit einer Norton-Rennmaschine begann für ihn eine ebenso erfolgreiche wie ereignisreiche Laufbahn in der Szene des Motorradrennsports.

Er fuhr in Österreich, bei Bergrennen auf den Gaisberg, Alpl, Tauplitzalm und Stainz sowie bei Flugplatzrennen in Langenlebarn und Innsbruck. Neben Straßenrennen in Schwanenstadt und Großraming folgten auch internationale Starts: Imola, Mugello (IT), Norisring, Hockenheim, Nürburgring (D) und in Brünn (eh. CSSR).

Für den 1972 gegründeten Motorsportverein „MSV Liezen" war Zach als Fahrer auf Ducati und Yamaha erfolgreich. Motorschäden und „Asphaltbekanntschaften" waren leider nicht selten. Bedenkt man, dass diese Rennen oft auf normalen, kaum abgesicherten Bundesstraßen stattfanden, mit Spitzengeschwindigkeiten von 274 km/h, so kann man wohl von Glück reden, dass der Liezener Rennfahrer zehn Stürze ohne Schäden "absolvierte".

Zachs Bilanz nach 17 Jahren Rennsport, von 1967 bis 1983:

121 Starts - 12 Siege - 14 zweite und 16 dritte Plätze. Mit den Höhepunkten seiner Karriere, Staatsmeister 1979 auf Yamaha in der Klasse 750 ccm und 4-mal Vizestaatsmeister, hat er sich in Österreichs "Ewigen Bestenliste" fest verankert.

Karl Zach war bis 2025 in der Oldtimer-Szene auf NSU, Norton und Yamaha unterwegs. Beim Oldtimer GP in Schwanenstadt beendete der schnelle Steirer seine langjährige Motorsportkarriere.

Der erste englische Mittelmotor-GT, der zwischen 1966 und 1968 im ostenglischem Witham 35 Mal produziert wurde. Ein reines Rennfahrzeug, das viele Siege holte.

AFM | Der Nachkriegsrenner von Falkenhausen

Restoration of NELL Christian

Bei Christian Nell, dem bekannten Karosseriebauer und Restaurator aus Kleinraming, OÖ wiederbelebt, zündeten Klaus und Roland Landerl 2021 erstmals bei der Ennstal-Classic die „Donnerbüchse“.

Diese wurde im Jahre 1947 von jenem Mann gebaut, der später zur Galionsfigur der BMW Motorentechnik aufstieg: Alex von Falkenhausen.

Über den Winter 1946/47 hatte sich Falkenhausen eine kleine Werkstatt eingerichtet, in der er mit einem Mechaniker an seinem Rennsportwagen-Projekt herumbastelte. Im Frühjahr 1947 nahm jener Rennsportwagen Gestalt an, der unter dem Namen „Donnerbüchse“ berühmt wurde, weil er bei den Nachkriegsrennen recht erfolgreich war und Falkenhausen im Jahre 1948 zum Deutschen Sportwagen-Meister bis 1.5 Lit. Hubraum wurde. Dennoch hatte man ein ernstes Problem, es galt den explodierten Motor zu ersetzen, was über den Winter 1948/49 mit einem BMW 326 Motorblock geschah. Der Motor leistete mit einer Alkohol-Benzin Mischung 105 PS bei etwa 6500 U/min.

Finanziell aber hatte sich Falkenhausen mit dieser Aktion derartig belastet, dass er sich gezwungen sah die „Donnerbüchse“ in die Schweiz zu verkaufen. Etliche Rennen und immer neue Besitzer stehen in der Lebenslaufakte, aber offenbar wagte sich niemand an einen Neuaufbau der „Donnerbüchse“ heran.
2014 kaufte sich Christian Nell das AFM-Chassis für sich und baute den Nachkriegsrenner neu auf, was nur dank seines großen Know-How möglich war.

Klaus Landerl kaufte dann das geschichtsträchtige Falkenhausen-Relikt und setzte es bei der Ennstal-Classic ein. [Ennstal-Classic]
