One day I will forgive myself,
of the harm I have done to myself, of the harm that I have made myself do.
And I will hold myself so tightly that
I won't leave me anymore....

Spring, Dawn
Perfect day for a little wedding photography as the rain stopped, the sky opened and that Praha magic led the way! Treated to a brilliant sunrise, beautiful dawn and pefefct shootng condition sin the Olda Market. Lots of Brides and Grooms beginning their waltz with a good foot forward. :) Isn't this a perfect spot for wedding memories?
Here I am testing a new Sigma Art 20mm 1.4 on a Canon EOS 5Ds from my partnership with Polish company Digital 24 and the results are nothing shy of.... WOW! Really loving this combo and how they handle. More soon.

The Royal Canadian Legion was often an important building in a lot of smaller rural towns. It was where a lot of local events were held. I imagine such was the case in what is now the ghost town of Loverna, Saskatchewan.
Description will be up once I add it to Mocpages. As you may have guessed, this is for the 2012 Mocathlon. Maybe I will polish it a bit, depending on your opinions.

Another WIP, which is based on the Vahki base that Leewan made.
I just need to find some CCBS connector for the hand, I don't know what to do for the head and feet. I don't want to use Olda foot, it's too big for the MOC.....
(Please indulge me a little guys. I've literally been working on this for three days straight)
No, you're not experiencing deja vu. First of all, I wanted to update my most popular design (from before the move). And secondly, I was asked (a year ago) to make instructions for them, so I thought I'd take the chance to also try out Stud.io's rendering engine. Now that I know what I'm doing with the renderer and custom decals, I might just move over to it if the feedback is good.
If you are somehow unaware, the Toa Mata are the original six heroes of the Bionicle franchise, some guys that I and many others feel a lot of nostalgia for. Check out the pair pics for more info.

I must confess that these pairings are inspired by Tales of the Masks, the first Bionicle book I got my hands on that I read again and again. The unlikely pairing of the severe and temperamental Tahu, Toa of Fire, and the carefree and jovial Lewa, Toa of Air, always stuck with me, not to mention the image of Tahu doing some vine-swinging (and making Lewa swear never to tell).
Tahu was actually the one to set off this little project as I began tinkering with the old Hau that I was never really happy with. In contrast, Lewa's Miru was one I did and redid over the last week or so, never quite happy with it.

In a team of hotheads, individuals, and pranksters, you need someone to help keep the peace. No comments on Gali, (female) Toa of Water filling that role, because she can outright devastate islands if she needs to. Onua, Toa of Earth, on the other hand, tends to take a backseat in discussions, able to say just the right things at the right time when needed.
The original Kaukau was my absolute favorite of the Brickheadz, but even it had some issues I needed to touch up. And then there's the Pakari... there were some difficult masks here, but the Pakari is actually impossible to satisfactorily build. This is the result of messing with it for the last week, something I can be proud (enough) of.

Another pairing from Tales of the Masks that I was glad to see continue through the rest of the story. Kopaka and Pohatu have always been my favorite pair for how unlikely it seems. The cold and distant Kopaka, Toa of Ice, with the friendly and impulsive Pohatu, Toa of Stone. They made for some great moments throughout Bionicle's lifetime.
Kopaka's Akaku definitely changed the least from its original, but it was one of my proudest ones in the beginning. I did swap the curved bits on the side for something smoother, as I realized I should have only weeks after posting the first time. After posting my Talon Trooper though, I got a good idea to capture those slopes in Pohatu's mask. Definitely check out the instructions if you're interested to get that design in your own Brickheadz.

Yep, I'm only like the fourth person to do this. I've seen a ton of them around of all kinds of designs. But I had a few of my own and hopefully you enjoy my interpretation as much as I've enjoyed seeing the others.
