I was walking through this lovely covered bridge, and very few cars would go through. It was just empty that time of day. But, I saw the opportunity for the light trails, and waited a bit. I finally got a good trail from a truck.

Portrait of a Truong Son Pit Viper.

An absolutely spectacular adult male Truong Son Pit Viper found coiled in an ambush posture within an elevated, shallow rock cleft at a limestone cave entrance at dusk in karst rainforest within the magnificent Phong Nha-Ke Bang NP in the Quang Binh Province of central Vietnam.

This species was quite recently described. It is currently regarded as endemic to the karst rainforest incorporating the Annamite Mountain Range, an area notable for its overall high endemism and species diversity. It is an area recently subjected to intensive scientific scrutiny because of these attributes. For example, a collaboration between German and Vietnamese researchers culminated in 46 published papers dealing with the herpetofauna of Phong Nha - Ke Bang alone, from 2000-2009!

In line with so many species recorded from the Annamite region that are currently regarded as endemic for Vietnam, it's occurrence in similar habitats in neighbouring Laos cannot be excluded.

The cobblestone streets of Brussels hold the quiet charm of a city that breathes history. Every corner reveals a piece of the past, with buildings that have witnessed centuries of change but remain as pillars of tradition and culture. Walking through these streets is like stepping into a time where architecture speaks, and the ground tells stories of old markets, artists, and gatherings that shaped Belgian identity.

Brussels, known for its blend of French and Flemish influences, preserves this essence in its alleys and hidden squares. The glow of cobblestones after a rainy night or the soft sound of footsteps echoing at dusk creates a unique atmosphere – melancholic yet warm.

These streets are not just pathways; they are living memories intertwined with the present. In Brussels, even the smallest alleyway seems to whisper that the past is never as far away as it seems.

His eyes, though fixed on the present through a glowing screen, flicker with remembrance. Perhaps of a grandfather who once sat in a shop like this, flipping newspapers and greeting neighbours by name. Or of a childhood morning, waiting for breakfast at a wooden table just like this one, surrounded by the familiar creak of ceiling fans and the clink of porcelain cups.

The artist’s studio in Kirkcudbright cared for by the National Trust for Scotland is part of Broughton House & Garden, the historic home and creative hub of the celebrated Scottish artist Edward Atkinson Hornel (1864–1933). Broughton House, situated on the High Street of Kirkcudbright, is an 18th-century townhouse that Hornel purchased in 1901, transforming it into his residence, studio, and gallery

Hornel commissioned renowned architects (the firm that included Charles Rennie Mackintosh) to build a large, light-filled artist’s studio and later an elegant gallery. The studio is preserved to display how Hornel worked, featuring art materials and unfinished pieces set out authentically

Wondering the city streets I kept noticing how Laura's Lichtenstein dress was contrasting so starkly against the background drab city colours (buildings etc..) So I put my curiousity to the test and got her to pose against the fading wall of Castello Sforzesco and thought it had quite a pronounced impact (see my white wall walker shot earlier for similar effect) on the image..

I also like the slight irony of the face being on the Lichtenstein dress and cropping the subjects face out this shot..
