Toerag, on her last morning with us. Old age is unkind, but the look in her eyes does speak volumes. Miss you girl.
Taken with a Nikon D7000 and a Nikkor AF 50mm f/1.8D lens, and processed in GIMP and Photoscape.
Old age doesn't come by itself unfortunately. These old trees are dead but their skeletons remain not far from Mount Main in the border hills near Heriot.
The unexpected sunset was strikingly beautiful, the old couple sitting on the swing watching the sunset over St. Lawrence River were even better. We got one shot only. It was timeless, and yet good old days do not wait.

nops.org.uk competition entitled "old age". So using my mum and her very old Singer sowing machine we created this image. She loved the participation and the final image as back in the day she was a seamstress.

Happy Birthday Dorothy Rose. A standing ovation. That's what she deserves just for getting up the stage. Dorothy Rose does more than that. She sings with vigour and strength not usually associated with little, white hair, 98 year old lady (yes, Ninety-Eight in late July). She is not just sitting lonely at home, but gets up and goes where they play her music. She was a regular at Chick'n'Deli and still sings with Climax Jazz Band. Hopefully, I will see her and hear her again soon. She now sings for her neighbours during Covid19 shutdown. On this photo she is at the Rex and joined Red Hot Ramble to sing few tunes. Trombonist RJ is obviously enjoying the performance. Dorothy Rose died on 28. Oct. 2022 at the age of 100. Life well lived!

Originalement, cette pince était destinée à manipuler les gros blocs de glace lors de leur transport et leur entreposage.
Trouvée dans un marché aux puces, elle m'a donné l'idée de cette photo qui s'appuie sur le sens de glace qui peut aussi vouloir dire crème glacée (en français).
Techniquement, c'est une scène éclairée au lightpainting avec assemblage de plusieurs expositions; j'ai fait quelques retouches pour enlever les supports de la pince et de la boule de crème glacée, ainsi que pour les ajustements de lumière et de couleur.

This 16 year old boy has my heart. Old age has given him a few knocks on the ass but he keeps getting up and fighting. About a month ago he suffered a horrible fall. He jumped and hit his head very hard on bricks. He gashed open his mouth, knocked the two remaining front teeth loose and most likely suffered a concussion. This past weekend he was knocked down again with Vestibular Disorder. It's very much like a stroke but he has a chance to recover and if not fully it should be enough to live a pretty good rest of life. Each day has improvement. We are on 24/7 care to protect him from further harm. Just trying to give him the best of what time he has left.

Old age doesn't come by itself unfortunately. These old trees are as dead as dodo's but their still standing proudly not far from Mount Main in the border hills near Heriot. No doubt awaiting some future storm to cut them down.

When you get dressed in the dark and the grey socks are actually light blue. The wife said I have no dress sense or style, I actually liked the combination, well when you are 3 score & 10 why worry and into a 3 hour very slow stroll round and near our Cathedral it was too bad!
La Bête c'est un appareil photo antique Adox hérité de mon père et avec lequel je voulais raconter une histoire en une seule image.
J'ai choisi des accessoires et un post-traitement qui rappellent une certaine époque dont ces deux vieilles photos.
La Belle, c'est ma mère, une des rares photos que j'ai d'elle (elle est décédée quand j'avais cinq ans), et sur l'autre photo on peut voir mes parents photographiés lors d'une réception.
Pour accentuer la relation entre la photo et l'appareil je voulais sélectionner précisément où faire le foyer et je voulais avoir le reste de l'image hors foyer pour transmettre l'idée d'un souvenir qui s'estompe, j'ai donc utilisé un objectif à bascule et décentrement (tilt-shift).
Pour l'éclairage j'ai choisi de faire du lightpainting et d'éclairer la scène avec des touches de lumière dans le but d'évoquer les formes plutôt que de les décrire, avec un accent mis sur l'objectif et la photo qui forment le centre d'intérêt.
Aged... weathered..the things this tree has seen... the time that has passed since it first pushed up through the surface of the soil reaching for the sun.
Year after year..day after day.. hour after hour..steadfastly standing it's ground and making its contribution to enhance the world around it.
Fall.. when trees are crowned in glory!
