Delivered from the yard November 2014. The COSLProspector is a semi-submersible drilling rig designed to operate in water depths up to 1500 meters and drilling depths to 7500 meters. The unit is designed for North Sea/ Norwegian Sea and world – wide use in harsh environments. Station keeping is maintained by dynamic positioning by 6 fixed pitch, variable speed thrusters (DP3) or by an 8 line mooring system.

Sad to see this gone, its been part of the Pembrokeshire skyline since the 1960s. Both stacks were blown up few weeks ago, most of the refinery has been shipped to Pakistan.

A couple of Yokahama fenders on the move in Scapa Flow, Orkney. Used to keep 2 tankers apart from each other during Ship to Ship transfers, a regular occurrence in Scapa Flow.

The Safe Notos is an enhanced GustoMSC Ocean 500 design semi-submersible accommodation vessel delivered from COSCO (Qidong) Offshore Co. Ltd. in February 2016.

 

With 500 beds, a DP3 station keeping system with follow target software installed allowing gangway connection to other floating installations, and a 10-point chain mooring arrangement the vessel is designed to provide maximum flexibility and cost efficiency during worldwide operations in the harshest offshore environments.
