At first, I took a picture of "water on oil" by my mistake for the theme of Macro Mondays!! So I hurriedly took "Oil on Water" again!!
A westbound BNSF oil train climbs the grades of Mullan Pass working through Austin, Montana, on the afternoon of July 1, 2020. Four Montana Rail Link SD70ACe locomotives are providing necessary tractive effort as a mid-train helper, between the pair of GEs on the lead and the lone DPU unit on the rear.
My highlight of the day was finding several oil beetles up on the Mendip hills. Some seemed to be 'black form' violet and some 'violet form' black, some black and some violet... And as every year, I forgot to get any proper 'back of the neck' shots, so no idea what this little fella is, but I'm leaning towards a male black. :@]
Looking Close on Friday theme: Oil on water
