When out in the sticks I like to drive down the back roads with the camera to see what I can find. Came across this little road. Quite a nice fall scene, so I stopped the car, took a few snaps then drove on into the photograph I'd just taken.
What you dont see is the road that I'd 'traversed' behind which was verging on offroading terrain... in a Mini Cooper :-) shared with pixbuf.com
If I’m outside no later than 5am, I have time to stargaze before the first hint of dawn back-lights the eastern hills. By 5:30 there is enough light to see pretty well. This morning I got on my bike at 5:40, and with the super-bright LED headlight aimed at the ground a little ways out from my front wheel, I could see any obstacles on the road clearly and in a timely fashion. The main things to avoid are mounds of deep soft sand, protruding rocks, and cholla cactus balls, with their vicious barbed tips. To get the best view of the desert landscape, I prefer to ride fully standing on the pedals, the extra elevation really helps. In this fashion I’m best able to sneak up on jack rabbits, not to shoot, but just to count, just for fun. On this particular trip the current tally is 15. Riding my bike on a four-wheel-drive road in the desert while the sun comes up is too fun. Rad Mini Step-Thru 2.

I taught a class on commercial photography where we used my 2021 Ford Bronco as the subject matter. I showed the class how to "use what you have" in a creative way to deliver deliverable material to a client. In this case we faked an off-roading scene in a parking lot with a wooded lot adjacent to it.

I filmed timelapse of our campsite at the Ibex Sand Dunes. However, I used Michael's camera and card, and forgot about the footage afterward. As a result, it wasn't included in the trip video. When the error was discovered, I retrieved the footage from Michael, and produced this image from a stack of about 60 1-minute exposures.
