This photograph captures the serene moment of a moonrise near Pierce Draw in Capitol Reef National Park, Utah. The photographer (Duncan Rawlinson) ventured off-road deep into the park and witnessed this breathtaking scene. As the moon rises against a pastel sky formed by the shadow of the Earth just after sunset, it illuminates the park's deep red soil and dramatic landscape. This tranquil and enchanted moment serves as a beautiful testament to the natural wonders found within Capitol Reef National Park.
This is as grassy as the path got while Phil was driving. His major obstacle was dodging all the village children. Later, when I was behind the wheel, we got on a path that was in serious need of a trim- and, judging by the flecks of grass all over our clothes afterwards, we gave it a bit of one.

This is a view of the beach, the Beach Hut, and some outdoor tables from the jetty. With only 10 bungalows, it's a pretty small, secluded resort.

Apparently, the most exciting time to take this tour is after the rain when all of the dirt roads have turned to mud. Even though there had been a bit of rain earlier in the week, all of our roads were dry. However, I had enough trouble seeing through the dust. I can't imagine it's easy to see through mud spattered goggles and glasses.
