Once the basic structure was up we poured concrete footings to keep the bales up off the gound. We hauled water, mixed and poured the concrete by hand.
The hike to Laguna Churup is short, 3 kilometers one way, but it is all the way a steady climb uphill. You start at 3840 meters above sea level, so you have about 600 meters to gain. Altitude sickness is definitely a factor to look out for. Here you see one of the beautiful peaks from the trail.
