Discover the presence of the ochre sands by following the Ochre Trail – the "Sentier des Ocres" – a path through the ochre lands which has been laid out and marked. The trail takes you amidst the earth pillars and hills carved out by water, wind and the hand of man.

Facts: Tiny woodpecker, found mostly in light woodlands and at forest edges. Note the short bill, black tail, and white central bar. Rusty-brown on the neck and cheeks, heavily barred front and an olive-green back. The crown is spotted white; males have a red forehead, black in females. Ochre ringlet, Coenonympha tullia, is a Holarctic species, meaning that it is found through North America, Northern Europe, and Asia. Our local ringlets are the subspecies, ochracea, referring to its colors.

The ochre-bellied flycatcher (Mionectes oleagineus) is a small bird of the tyrant flycatcher family. It breeds from southern Mexico through Central America, and South America east of the Andes as far as southern Brazil, and on Trinidad and Tobago (Wikipedia).
