Denison Beach, near Bicheno, Tasmania

Sun going down into the Pacific Ocean, seen from the west coast of the Olympic Peninsula, Washington. Near Kalaloch, I think. Good viewed in large size; there are some nice patterns in the water.

Finally got around to this "roll." These two girls edged out together on a cliff overlooking the Pacific. Bravely facing their futures.

It was a beautiful day to be on the beach. Temps in the upper 80's, a nice breeze and lots of sunshine.

A happy accident. Longer shutter speed than needed and a nudge of the tripod and you get this.

I almost deleted this shot but saw something in it that I just had to tease out.

The 61G lava flow has reached the ocean about a month now. It took about 4 miles one way hike from the road to reach this point. The hike is fairly easy, follow an emergency road. Optionally you can rent a bike to get there too!

Easily one of my favorite places along the Oregon Coast. These sandstone formations fascinate people from quite literally around the world. Carved by wind and water over eons of time, and striped in colorful bands. My wife and I have spent many hours enjoying them on our three month-long trips along the Oregon Coast.

Macro Mondays-

We all went a little crazy during the Pandemic. I got sucked in to a start-up electric car company from a targeted Instagram ad (actually why I left Instagram). Put a large deposit down and all of the early adopters got numbered L.E. vehicle assignments (1-5000) and two L.E. keychains. Well of course the company went bust; though not before I had dumped my stock holdings and cancelled my order! The Fisker Ocean One L.E. sold for around $73,000. After the bankruptcy, they were selling for at best $22,000! Somewhere around 3000 people got stuck with cars of little resale value and incomplete software, windows that wouldn't open, brakes that didn't always engage, and keys that didn't work. Thankfully I dodged the bullet and my keychain is empty😂

I've been waiting 2-3 years to get the film back from this shot and upload it. The morning here was perfect. Big surf, fog rolling in and a nice sunrise to help capture this scene. I like the light to dark, the misty qualities of this shot and of course the intense colours as a result of the velvia film. A little too intense almost, no saturation/vibrance was added as it was just too much.

I like how this small channel is an entry point for the waves to crash into, sending a channel of water past you as you sit safely on the rock. The more you look at this you'll find the little lighthouse on the headland across from the beach.

I've been back once since I got this shot, I felt I had nailed it and wasn't sure I'd get a better moment in time than this. Still, now that I look at it I think it could do with some cropping (I guess one of the drawbacks of a fixed zoom lens). I think one of the things or style that I have is somewhat symmetrical photos with the horizon almost directly in the middle. Although not 100% intentional it is the best way to ensure minimal cropping with a film/viewfinder panoramic camera!

Off the cruise ship from this past August.

Thanks for your visit and comments, I appreciate that very much!

The clouds were pretty neat after sunset there and streaming fast. Quite the movement there for a two minute exposure. Liked the late blue hour sky against the hotel and boardwalk lighting there in Ocean City.
