Is there anything more uplifting than standing on an unspoiled beach, toes in the sand, salt air swirling around you, and letting the moment sink deep into your soul?

Some helpful advice to end the week: If, at first you don’t succeed, destroy the evidence that you tried ;)

Thanks for any comments, they are all greatly appreciated!

Waterscape 64/100 in 2025

A short drive north from me, Fingal Bay is a favourite place to visit.

Most of Fingal Bay is included in the Tomaree National Park, which includes forested areas, coastal scrubland, beaches and most of the Fingal headland. Fingal Island can be seen on the horizon here.

The water is pristine and clear, the most gorgeous shades of turquoise, aquamarine and blue. The sand, a pale yellow to white.

And on this morning, just a handful of people.

I stood on the shore and it was truly idyllic. Silent, except for the breaking of the gentle waves and expansive views along the beach and out to sea.

How lucky we are, to be able to experience and enjoy these extraordinary gifts of nature.

At the bottom edge of this photo, one can just see the orange front end of the open kayak I'm paddling out on the ocean of Datai Bay.

At this moment I took my phone (camera) out of a waterproof bag to take the shot of the ocean, the island, and the unusual cloud movements, streams, and patterns in the sky, which I think are amazing, and like to share with you. This occurred late morning, and I really enjoyed the adventure.

I was probably out there for a couple of hours before I got hungry and decided to paddle back to the resort shore of Dalai Bay, having had only a coffee, a strawberry danish and pear compote, and some fruit for a late breakfast, :-))

It was enjoyable to go out on the ocean again, having already missed it for a couple of weeks while travelling.

Thanks for dropping by and all the best! Hope you enjoy the shot.

at portixol, a district of palma de mallorca that rests by the sea, the setting sun casts a golden farewell to the day. Silhouettes of people and structures are sketched against the fiery horizon, while the calm waters reflect the fading light. It's a tranquil scene where the ocean meets the sky in a warm embrace, a daily spectacle observed by locals and visitors alike, each sunset unique to the beholder.

This is Yellow card. Also called a stop action Card. We use this in various Industries. This Specific one is from my Ship office. If I think that any one is doing any Unsafe practice, I can just show him and he has to stop whatever he is doing. And no question to be asked. This card is issued to everyone and any one can show this to anyone. The sad part is – I can only show this to my colleagues. HMM !!

On a recent work trip to coastal North Queensland (Australia), where I also dropped into this favourite coastal beach on the other side of Cairns.

Sunset at Svarte Beach in Skåne, Sweden.

I learned a important leasson today, even if 50 waves in a row will just go that high, it doesnt mean that wave 51 won't soak your shoes.

This is the first time im out using my new D700, Zeiss Distagon 21mm and Singh-Ray filters.

Obviously alot more to learn with all this new gear but very happy with it sofar.

I hope you like the result !

A young man takes a picture toward coastal La Jolla, California from the observation stand above Blacks Beach, San Diego, California.

The sun leans gently into the horizon, painting the dunes in liquid gold. A woman stands still, rooted like an ancient tree, yet light as wind. Her silhouette dances with the fading light, a quiet hymn to the setting day. The sand cradles her steps, tracing stories soon to be swept away by the whispers of the evening breeze.

In this fleeting moment, time dissolves. The mountains bow in the distance, and the sky hums softly, wrapping the earth in warmth. The delicate lace that adorns her moves like petals in the air – fragile, yet woven with strength. She stands not against nature, but with it, becoming a thread in the vast, eternal fabric of land and sky.

This is not merely sunset; it is a symphony of stillness. In the heart of Florianópolis, where the dunes stretch like ocean waves, the ordinary melts into the extraordinary. The dance of shadow and light leaves behind an unspoken truth – that beauty exists in the quiet, the pause, the breath between one step and the next.

Dagshög is the name of a age old Burial mound at this location, there is also a ruined stone quarry here, not as old as the burial mound, and this is the beach a couple of 100 meters away from both, im not sure what this Pillars where used for, but it seems they filled barrels with concrete and then removed the barrel shells, left is just some strang looking concrete pillars leading out to the ocean.
