Hey son, this train is going nowhere. It has been running on a loop for 10 days already.

The students' passion for democracy is so adorable as origami, the green salad passion.

Is this a messy picture? But I see beauty from it.

Are the protesters in Occupy Central creating a mess in the city? No, they are creating the future for the society!

Order and control are often the excuses for resistance to change.

When the students are fighting for the freedom and democracy for the next 100 years and they are risking their life, why can't you just tolerate the loss of some convenience and economic values.

"We have everything, except democracy"

This is what she is writing but does not necessarily represent my view.

There is the umbrella movement in Hong Kong during the months from September to December 2014. The citizens were protesting for people's rights on the democratic election of Chief Executive in Hong Kong.

The yellow umbrella is a very popular icon at that time. I play with the replace colour in Photoshop and turn the red umbrellas into yellow in tribute to this democratic movement.

The cyclist is in the original colour of yellow.

Have a great Wednesday!

Have a great Easter weekend my friends!

The decision today will have long lasting consequences in the future. It is like a long shadow cast into the future.

When you say the prerequisite of talk with students is that no change in the screening of chief executive election and no modification is possible in the system, you are simply refusing the conversation and negotiation.

It is like you are talking to the workers in strike and say that no pay raise is possible and what they are asking is more wages!!

Then you are pushing the people and young generation in Hong Kong to the nativists group and independence movement.

Right now the people still recognize the China and Hong Kong government as ruling authority. And they address the issues by peacefully plea for reform and changes in the system.

When you violently refuse and simply say nothing can be done, you are pushing them away. At the end, the only way to have change in the system is to change the leadership and authority.

Is that something you are trying to bring to Hong Kong?

Will the democratic election of chief executive in a special administrative district damage the national security and authority of central government? No it won't. Instead the opposite will happen if a wrong decision is made now.

Are you tired of Occupy Central?

I saw you were yawning and feeling bored. Okay, we will take a break in "talking" about it. But the movement is still on until the mission of democracy is accomplished.

This is my kitty friend in one of the Vancouver neighbourhood I visited and I usually call him "Lion". Because his owner gives him a lion style haircut.

Have a good day!

The Occupy Central movement is demonstrating the spirit of peace and love in Hong Kong. We are seeing people protesting peacefully and many citizens voluntarily offer support in food and other supplies to the protesters.

My sincere hope that everyone in Hong Kong will listen to this plea for democracy no matter the mission is achieved or not at the end.

Have a great Tuesday!

Son, you've been wandering in the high sea for fifteen days. You don't have to go this far! Come back and away from these pounding waves.

This is the golden era in Hong Kong.

There is not great pressure in economy, no shortage of freedom and comfort in living. But you are living in a caged system. This is our golden era.

If you like to live in a cage, that is your choice. The Hong Kong people have made clear with their voice loudly, democracy is the only way to go.

This is the 17th day of Occupy Central movement.

This is just a mundane scene in a Vancouver neighbourhood last weekend. It was also a rainy morning that day.

Wish you a great weekend!

Occupy Central is still going on!

The Umbrella Movement or Occupy Central, protest for democratic election of Chief Executive in Hong Kong was ended on 15 December 2014.

The Hong Kong and China government did not make any changes to the election system.

What will be the next to happen and what are the lessons we would take from the Umbrella Movement?

Chinese New Year is coming and I wish all my Flickr friends a happy and prosperous Year of Monkey!

There are so many arguments and discussions about democracy and election of Chief Executive in Hong Kong ever since Occupy Central movement came into sight.

Some argued that there has been no election of governor in the colonial rule in Hong Kong before 1997. The election now suggested by China is a step forward already. The question is: Is the voting on screened candidates a real democracy?

I believe if Hong Kong were under British rule today and similar kind of election framework being proposed, the Hong Kong people will still protest on it and will not accept it too.

We need a real step forward and not a step backward like what was happening in the colonial rule i.e. the leader in government was appointed and sent by another ruling authority.

This is not moving forward or backward in my picture. This is just Woodward's spiral stairs 4 October seen on the day of Doors Open Vancouver event.

Happy Sunday!

I have my best wishes for Occupy Central movement on the 7th day.

The Occupy Central is like the performance stage in a theatre showing the qualities of Hong Kong people and how they struggle, sacrifice and fight for democracy. This is done for the future of Hong Kong.

I visited The Orpheum theatre in downtown Vancouver on the Doors Open day. I twisted a bit on the white balance and made it looking more like a golden stage.

The stage in Hong Kong Occupy Central is also shining like gold.

Have a great Monday and week!

We have a foggy morning today. Someone said that?

We can have foggy weather and the world is in a mess, but don't get foggy with your mind.

This is a repost of archive picture taken in 2014.

Have a great day!

Where the way is leading you to?

If you are not listening to the pleas of Hong Kong people and students in their peaceful protest, you choose to respond with violent suppression instead of reform and changes in the system. You are telling all the people in Taiwan and China that peaceful protest is not going to work and this is a dangerous message to all.

Now you have to take courage and make a wise decision. Or this is leading you to a dead end.

This is the 18th day of Occupy Central in Hong Kong. The police used violent force again against the peaceful protesters. The Hong Kong government refused to talk to the students and showed no motives in making any reform on the chief executive election system.

We had foggy patch last week in Richmond.
