I have wanted to photograph Xandor with the cherry blossoms for years and now I finally got the chance to do it! My mom drove all over town for this <3 xD
I have way too many photos that I like so I can upload once a day for a week or so xD
I got tagged by Shawnah and I love doing this kind of thing, so here we go!
1: From all the dolls you own, who is your favourite and why?
Wow, what an impossible question! I don't buy dolls if I don't love them, so I guess they are all kinda my favorite:) That said, I LOVE Soom Little Gems and the creative process that I put into making them my own.
2: Explain how you managed to get into BJD collecting?
I've always collected dolls one way or the other, but that pretty much stopped when I got into university. I came to Japan back in 2003 for uni and somehow stumbled upon Tenshi no Sumika in Osaka. It felt like I'd seen the holy grail of doll collecting, but there was no way I could afford it at the time so I dismissed it. Finally back in October of 2010, after several months of research, I ordered my first girl--Souldoll Katie A. She was the window to everything else, and I love her. Also, I met Shawnah in early 2011 and we've had lots of fun together! Plus I came to love and appreciate Volks dolls. All of my Volks dolls are officially her fault ^_-
3: Name the very first doll you ever bought?
Impromptu, my Katie A., was my first doll. I was looking for something very specific and it took me a long time to get there. I almost bought a Bluefairy Tommy for my first girl, and she's still on my wish list. Impromptu is a character very dear to me, and I'm about to drop a mint to have her older version in iplehouse Bianca. I may also end up with yet another one of her in iple Tania:)
4: Which doll do you plan to buy next?
Iplehouse Bianca, hands down. It's only the second time a doll grabbed me that hard, the first being Soom Adamelli. With that red hair, the freckles, the half military half poor girl story, with the right green eyes...oh wow, am I ever in love with her. I might also end up sending a chunk of paycheck to Volks again if there's a nice tenshi this October...
5: Are you currently waiting on any dolls?
Of a sort. I have a Soom Thera on layaway. I don't think I'll be passing on Soom msd sizes anymore...I've seriously regretted all the ones I've passed on.
6: How many dolls do you currently have?
Er...I have 23, plus a floating head because I'm one Soom body short, and a doll that's outside the count because I mean to sell her. I have Soom Dune, Nor, North, Kivi, Marl, Pel, Obsidius, Migma, and Rosette Fir. From Volks, I have SDGr Jun Tachibana, Rozen Maiden Suiseiseki, Yo Kun, Little Lorina, Tenshi Mamu, Tenshi Mika, Tenshi Ken, and a lucky Sei Tenshi that I won at Kyoto Dolpa. From Souldoll, I have Soulkid Katie A. and discontinued Clara. From iplehouse, I have B.I.D.s Erzulie, Byuri, and Efreet. I also have a Raurencio Stella.
7: Name the very last doll you bought?
Volks Suiseiseki and Souseiseki, practially together, over this past weekend. It was alarming how quickly I loved the mold. As Shawnah pointed out, they are big Mamu, and I love Mamu sooo much! So yeah, Suiseiseki at least is here to stay, and as for Souseiseki, we'll see:)
8: What is the worst thing about this hobby?
I think it brings out a sort of obsessiveness in people if done to excess, and I've been on the wrong end of some very rude people at special events. Some people really will throw you in front of a bus for the chance to buy a special doll, even when you are helping them -_-; Also, of course, the money. I shudder to think how much money I've tanked on this hobby, but it's brought me tons of happiness so I think it's worth it.
9: What is the best thing about this hobby?
I feel like I've learned so much already and it's made me want to learn about so many new crafts. My mom was always an art teacher but nothing ever really inspired me as a medium. These dolls finally are my answer, and I love everything about them--the clothes, the photography, the face-ups...there's so many things to learn! Also, I've had some great experiences and made some awesome friendships through this hobby!
10: Which is your best dolly photo (of yours)?
Hmm, I don't know. I think I still have a lot to learn when it comes to photography! I will say though that I'm fond of the pics I took of Chroniko when she only had half a faceup ^^;
11: Which is your favourite BJD company?
By default I have to say Soom. I love love love their msds, and their clothes are to die for. The aesthetic of their dolls really appeals to me. That said, I have a wishlist for iple dolls a mile long. I love them too and really look forward to having some of their larger sizes someday. And finally, Volks has continued to grow on me, and my wishlist for them is not so short either :P
12: Who are on your wish list?
Oh my god. It's a long list. At the top of easily attainable things are iple Elin twins, iple Tania, and Volks Elena and Rinon. As for not so attainable things, I'd love to have a yo-tenshi Hinata. From Soom, I want all the Little Gems I'm missing: bronze Aphan (as a girl), NS fullset Sueve (I'm losing faith that I will ever find her^^;),human NS Mylo, and Nodia, prolly in CW.
13: Are there any dolls you wished you had never purchased?
Nope. I've had fun with all of my dolls. I loved my Leeke dolls but they just didn't fit my collection at all. Probably the one I fought the most was Soom Amphibel. She drove me up the wall, but I ended up trading her for a gorgeous Migma so it's all good.
14: Who's your favourite face up artist/s?
I love meggilu! Her freckled faceups are to die for, and I hope to send one of my dolls to her someday. For more serious faceups I like angeltoast. I'm also fond of Nomyens after seeing her work in real life.
15: What is a must when considering a purchase/pose ability/faceup/age/etc?
Probably I don't have enough criteria for making a purchase ^^; But honestly, a doll has to really grab me, and to at least loosely fit a character I have in mind. The exception is the Soom Little Gems. I get them, then decide which character they are, and then sometimes they get ideas during the faceup and I learn things about their personality that I didn't know myself. I really don't want to get anything bigger than what I have now though...70 cm is just way too much for my space constraints. My tallest doll is SD17 size and that's plenty for me!

I found this xoxo Christmas ribbon in with some wrapping/packing materials in the basement, and I had this idea for a shoot xD
William is the only person except for his girlfriend Xandor will feed from. He trusts William to stop him before he goes too far.

Sorry for the crappy pictures! My room is currently crowded with boxes and unfinished dolls, because all of them I have ordered long times ago, arrived within a few days now and are waiting for me to work on their blushings and faceups.
