Sometimes I feel depressed surrounded by all the glorious colors of October, because I know that the autumn leaves will fade and November will come with winter close behind. The days are growing shorter.
I hope that you will excuse my "funky" mood - my husband has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
"... there was no point in sighing after what I could not have. It only distracted me from what I did have." ~ Robin Hobb
Colors are fading now, leaves are falling, tones of brown are beginning to dominate in the garden. The riotous gaiety of autumn colors are taking on a somber mood as winter approaches.
"October extinguished itself in a rush of howling winds and driving rain and November arrived, cold as frozen iron, with hard frosts every morning and icy drafts that bit at exposed hands and faces."
~ J.K. Rowling
I apologize, Flickr friends, for not being around these last few days.
I have been preoccupied with my sick kitty, Mr. Meowzer, who, I suspect, swiped and ate some unspun, dyed wool from my spinning basket. At last today after a trip to the vet and conferences over the phone with them, he seems to be feeling better, and I can at last breath a sigh of relief. Who knows what gets into their feline brains. Please know that I have missed viewing your wonderful images!!
for a happy Sunday!

Hydrangeas are blooming now. This is one from my yard. I planted some to replace shrubs that were killed by the arctic blast of cold weather we had over the winter. A lovely woodland plant.
it’s precise, lightning-like, clean cut, brilliant, alert :-)

These gorgeous flowers are growing on the huge bush in my neighbour's yard.
Everybody can look, but they don't necessarily see. I never calculate or consider; I see a situation and I know that it's right, even if I have to go back to get the proper lighting :-)
