Cheetah cubs (Acinonyx jubatus) are the most adorable of all the wild cats. With their white furry backs, which disappears at about 9-12 months age, they are full of life and playing with each other all the time.
This playing at a young age actually is a never ending lesson for the young cubs on how to stalk and hunt for themselves when they are on their own in the wild.

This is a photo from Mong Kok, Hong Kong. For me as a European it is difficult to describe what Mong Kok is because I think it is just crazy. Let's say it's a huge open air shopping mall/street filled with people and neon lights that all call for your money. What's also important; if you go down this street you will be met by the weirdest and most disgusting smell ever smelled. We are still not sure where the smell comes from but we think it's stinky tofu...

i'm pretty happy- my final critique on my "from scratch" cookbook project went really well! i always get really nervous.... i have one more big project to turn in tomorrow. then, i will feel better- the rest is solid.

While visiting in Vegas we had to make a stop at Fremont Street. The combination of lights, people, sound, and even the overhead zip line was sensory intensive to say the least. A far cry from the serenity and natural beauty of Valley of Fire experienced a few hours earlier!
I'm still not sure how the D800 will perform in low light at high ISO so I decided to start out slowly and used ISO 800 for these shots - no problem here with noise. My gut says it will not match the D3s but I will reserve judgement until I've had a chance to push the D800 a bit.

Fall in Minnesota is exquisite pain. The multi-colored beauty of sunrises, sunsets and fall foliage threatens to overload the senses. But behind all that we experience, there is a whisper warning us it won't last. Whatever.
My answering machine is full of election messages and my brain is full of confusing ballot propositions. But I have voted and must simply wait to see what happens.
