Entering Vatnajoekull National Park in South Iceland we stumbled upon this place which to me looked highly alien, some strange SciFi world we did not belong to. I gather the round structure serves to gather those Icelandic horses maybe, but honestly I do not know.
The traveler has to knock at every alien door to come to his own, and one has to wander through all the outer worlds to reach the innermost shrine at the end.

See 'romanesco' on black!
Found at the local supermarket yesterday: a -for me- new vegetable, called romanesco, seemingly a cross between cauliflower and broccoli. But foremost an interesting object with a shape and color reminding me of coral or outerworldly landscapes.
By the way, haven't tasted it yet!

epilogue (February 2006):
I never did taste it. The thing was too foreign for Luz to want to cook it. So instead, I photographed its demise during the following months. The process of this decay can be followed in the set Romanesco's Fall. Hopefully I'll get to eat it this year. If so, I'll let you guys know!

È sorprendente come un semplice pezzo di vetro e un sensore possano portare i nostri occhi così lontano, verso mondi vasti e remoti. Giove, con la sua immensa atmosfera turbolenta, galleggia nello spazio, tirato dai fili invisibili del sole e della gravità. Ogni volta che punto il telescopio, mi capita di viaggiare un po’ più lontano, esplorando i segreti di questi colossi freddi e misteriosi.
Qui ho fotografato il pianeta con il mio Mak 127 con una barlow 5x, su Canon 800D. Elaborazione in PIPP e Registax, aggiustamento colori in Photoshop
La piccola "stella" sulla sinistra è il satellite Io, uno dei satelliti Medicei scoperte da Galileo nel 1610, grande quanto la nostra Luna.

There's a place in the remote Arizona desert where one of the most amazing and unique rock formations sits in a world of filled with sand... in one corner of this outerworld land there is a single tree that stands guard over desertscape.
Built for the preliminary round of Bio-Cup 2022
Theme: Nature
I won't deny that I was stuck, looking for a concept, for as long as a full week. I really wanted to avoid making a whole moc designed around plants, trees or flowers, and didn't want to make a simple animal either.
The concept behind this build is quite straight-forward: what if Mother Nature was some kind of lovecraftian, outer space entity, instead of her typical motherly/human-like depiction?
The first things I designed were the torso and belly. I really wanted to keep the key mother nature symbolism (all the recalls to fertility and being a mother and whatnot) while adding an outerworldly feel to all of it. I also wanted her head to have a single eye that resembled a bright star.
The addition of tentacles at the vertical edges of the moc was a simple way to strengthen the cosmic horror feel of the build. The blue zamor represents, of course, a planet fit to inhabit life.
