Plains zebra (Equus quagga), the more common or widespread of the the two species we encountered. They are easy to identify as their stripes wrap all the way around their bellies. No two stripe patterns are the same.

The Neckarfront is one of the most famous places and a heritage tourist attraction in Tübingen, Germany. It is an ensemble of multi-storey, gabled residential buildings on the Neckar river between the Eberhard Brigde over the river, and upriver the characteristic sight Hölderlinturm with the punt boat pier. This the southern side the houses share with the same still partially existing city wall. Overall the historic scenery above the Neckar river and the tower of the collegiate Church on top, behind the buildings are Neckargasse and Bursagasse. The address 16 Bursagasse is the Tübingen Room Theater "Zimmertheater Tübingen".
Upriver the Neckarfront is in direct sight as well as Alte Burse, Tübinger Stift and a row of inline houses along the Neckarhalde. It is dominated by Castle Hohentübingen.
Between Eberhardsbrücke and Hölderlinturm a pedestrian walk is along the Neckar front, beside a mighty wall. The walls summit is during summer a popular place for students.
The best view of the Neckarfront provides the Eberhard Bridge and the Platanenallee on the Neckarinsel directly opposing the river.
Lots of spider webs this time of the year here at home. I like these two separated by the fence post. HFF!
Me, yin and yang, two opposing and complementary energies. Yin means darkness being represented by the side painted black, and yang is light. Complex, misanthropic, lonely by nature, in need of a word or a hug, your absence hurts me, I'm fed up with people around me. B I P O L A R !

"Why do I have to grow up?" asked Pink.
"Because you can't be young forever." answered Gold.
"But...why?" Pink pressed on.
"Why not?" Gold countered back.
Pink's lips parted to answer but then she realized she had no idea why she was opposed to growing up.
Gold just chuckled, allowing her to digest her own questions that honestly did not have answers.
If only pink knew that no one really grows up, they just pretend to. There is a little child in all of us...
P.S. We're angels, I swear ;)

Bird in the Branches Spring has been trying to start but Winter has been opposed to it, mostly nice day today with some sunshine and happy birds and squirrels feeding, not sure what this little fellow is, but he was happy, found in North Carolina.
Last one from sunset yesterday I promise, this time a long exposure as opposed to the half second one I posted yesterday
The Wild Teasel is also called Cabaret des oiseaux or Wild Bonnetier, the opposite leaves in pairs along the stem are welded by their base two by two and form a basin in which rainwater can accumulate, hence the vernacular name of 'cabaret des oiseaux'.
English translation follows
In the case of a parhelion, the sun's rays pass through ice crystals which form the clouds. There is then a refraction.
It's a bit the same phenomenon when looking at an object at the bottom of a swimming pool. The object is not really where it appears to be. There is therefore a deviation of the rays of the sun, and a decomposition of the light, as a prism can do.
The more red colors are closest to the sun, and the more blue colors are opposite. This is mainly visible when the sun is low on the horizon. The rays thus pass through a greater number of ice crystals and the effect is then increased.

*Working Towards a Better World
Let's come together and sit at the table and work out our differences. In the long run we all have the same goal, to live happily in peace. The only way to attain that life is by compromising and finding better ways to exist together, help one another, be tolerant, understanding, compassionate, share and peacefully work out our differences. We owe this, in a huge way to our children and, if we don't get it right they will suffer desperately. So let's make a large communal effort to get it right!
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
A large, olive-brown parrot endemic to New Zealand. Adults have a deep crimson belly and undertail with a red-orange underwing. South Island birds are brighter with a white crown. Juveniles have a yellow base to their lower bill. A forest-dwelling parrot that is more common on offshore islands, but flourishes in areas where mammalian predators are controlled; some visit city and rural gardens. Harsh, grating “kra-aa” call is often heard before the bird is seen. The species also whistles a series of tuneful notes while perched. Distinguishable from Kea by smaller size, olive-brown as opposed to olive-green plumage, and range. (eBird)

We were waiting for our guide, Abe, as he returned to the car to grab my spare camera battery. While we waiting, these parrots kept zooming past us. Curious, we walked a little way down the path and there they were - a whole crew of them at a feeding station. What a treat to see these lovely parrots so closely. They became a regular occurrence during the rest of the trip, flying overhead and calling loudly. This was the only time, though, that we saw them perched.

Opposing steep grades make for a compelling photograph as Utah Railway's 'Wattis Turn' goes about its business at the Wattis coal mine on a sunny Aug. 13, 1985 morning. The BN F45s and SP SD45 were on lease from NRE, and had only been loading coal in Utah for four months.
We use our big toes to give us balance when we walk. Apes use their counter-opposing big toes to grab branches when in trees. Scientists believe that our big toe was the last to evolve.
