Another one of these silly collages! Back in 2017, I referenced that I was running out of stupid place names. Well, over the past couple of years I've come across the occasional one (long gone are the days where a single day trip would lead to loads of them) and here's my seventh selection.

These particular examples come to from Dorset, Monmouthshire and West Yorkshire.

I must say, looking at the previous six collages I made (find them in my 'Guffaw' album) ... I did chuckle all over again. All that environment-destroying petrol was worth it!

EXPLORE #153, Oct 1/08

I was lucky enough to enjoy watching these two Mute Swans yesterday for quite some time. Just before it began to rain the light was magical on the water of Lake Ontario. They looked absolutely magnificant in this light..I was lucky enough to be there just at the right moment when this one spread it's wings for ME (I thought that anyway) I was quite far away but using my tele-conversion lens with my little sony. I cold have lightened this shot a tich but wanted to convey the real light to you all...............It was dull grey and very magical before the rain started.............The strange light was due to the cloud formation...some parts of the sky overhead were cloudy some parts weren't.....The Swans were on a small sandbar and the water was quite calm around them...causing the light to look as it does.......It really was amazing.........to see.

Even in winter. Even in a snow storm. Seems like Mourning doves only have one thing on their minds! LOL This poor little female was having quite the struggle to peacefully eat some seeds

This heap of shiny shapes is part of one of the sculptures at Hidcote Manor Garden in September. They are multi coloured but that looked a bit too confusing so here they are in mono.

Monochrome Thursday 😊

Kate specifically instructed me to get a couple of bags of Christmas candy at Sam's. Then, of course, I had to take a festive picture. And, obviously, I couldn't put them back in the bag, after, you know, they'd been handled. So we ate them. It didn't take very long. Sigh. I swear we tried to pace ourselves.

A Kind Of Magic

Queen

One dream, one soul

One prize, one goal

One golden glance of what should be

It's a kind of magic

One shaft of light that shows the way

No mortal man can win this day

It's a kind of magic

The bell that rings inside your mind

Is challenging the doors of time

It's a kind of magic

The waiting seems eternity

The day will dawn of sanity (Ooh ooh ooh ooh)

Is this a kind of magic?

It's a kind of magic

There can be only one

This rage that lasts a thousand years

Will soon be done

This flame that burns inside of me

I'm hearing secret harmonies

It's a kind of magic

The bell that rings inside your mind

Is challenging the doors of time

It's a kind of magic

It's a kind of magic.

As we say in Ireland, “the craic was mighty” this morning up at Govetts Leap, trying to hold an umbrella over the camera, in gale force wind, and rain coming in all directions, including mist coming up out of the valley at the camera as well.

The amount of images with rain splatter outweighed those without.

But it was magical!!!

What a great morning to be out and about doing what I LOVE!!

Hope you like “A Kind Of Magic”

Cheers, Mike

Sit in the Sun and have a catch up

well, actually i was just trying to take pictures of the coke bottles with my pinhole camera and i was doing test shots with the digital.. my dog was out as well and she kept staring at the bottles and sniffing them, very cute.

i'm going crazy without my camera. i figured i'd be fine without for a week or two because it's winter and there's not much to photograph, but i am going crazy! I can't wait to buy my new camera! I'm still stuck about lenses so I might hold off until I fiiiiinally decide.
