We celebrated Junko's birthday on October 13th by going to dinner at a local Teppanyaki restaurant. This place is well known for its hospitality, good food and comfortable atmosphere. The steak is about the best you will find in Japan!
We all had a great time as a family. Junko, as usual, got emotional when opening her cards, which is one of the reasons I love her so much. All in all, it was a lot of fun.
Next week, on Friday the 23rd we plan to finish celebrating Junko's birthday in Yokosuka at our favorite Yakitori joint!
The Ome station is a JR Ome Line's sataion and located in Ome, Tokyo, Japan. They have natsukashii stuff (natsukashii means nostalgic) of the Showa period. (1926 to 1989) Only Japnaese might understand that. Japanese still use the Japanese imerial year with the European year. The Japanese Imperial year has a name for each emperor. Showa is a name of Hirohito's period, 1926 to 1989. 1939 is the Showa period and 1988 is same. The generation is too much different. So, I am a Japnanese, but I don't understand this stupid feeling of nostalgy, but they were beautiful and good old fashioned stuff.
