The Manhattan of Burgundian Bruges in the Middle Ages. A lively port where busy traders assembled from all over Europe, and you could hear every imaginable language. A tangle of people loading and unloading pressed around the Toll House and the Rijkepijndershuis while citizens and merchants watched approvingly from the Burghers’ Lodge. Today the square is dominated by the stately presence of the world-famous master painter Jan van Eyck, and from here you can set off to discover peaceful, quiet working-class neighbourhoods. The Porticciolo della Marina di Piombino had a predominantly service function for the city. In 1247 it was equipped with the Fontana della Marina, or Fonte dei Canali, of fundamental importance for the supply of drinking water to the population and boats. In the second half of the 15th century the Porticciolo was subjected to a rational arrangement by order of Jacopo III. In 1466 a protected dock was built to contain a galley at the disposal of the Lord and other small merchant boats. To better defend the small landing place in 1471 it was decided to build a tower, which no longer exists. During his visit in 1504, Leonardo da Vinci was interested in the situation of the Porticciolo area, judging it to be the only weak point of the coastal stretch, as it lacked suitable defense works.

Tramonto sul porto antico di Genova.
I raggi del sole che riescono a filtrare da dietro le barche e che tingono di un rosso acceso la location.
Mi sono divertito a scaldare i toni per rendere l'immagine più vibrante.
Nonostante abbia più volte proposto foto della stessa location, questo scatto mi piace molto per essere riuscito a catturare i raggi del sole evitando di bruciare la foto se non per il sole.
Purtroppo non essendo possibile in questo periodo una vacanza in qualche altra parte del mondo ho sfruttato con una serie di scatti al magico vecchio porto di Genova le bellezze della città . Diciamo che ormai di vecchio porto non possiamo più parlarne visto che dal 1992 è diventato con una meravigliosa ristrutturazione una location fantastica e accessibile da tutti, per giunta con meravigliosa vista mare. Spesso i tramonti sono incredibili e con colori e riflessi stupendi lasciando sempre affascinati turisti e visitatori.
Il vecchio porto di Genova sa sempre regalare emozioni soprattutto al calar del sole. Questo vecchio scatto ogni volta che lo rivedo mi piace sempre come la prima volta per i colori caldi che si riflettono nello specchio d'acqua ma anche per i colori pastello nell'intera immagine. Ho voluto un taglio panoramico per dare risalto alle imbarcazioni sulla parte laterale che si uniscono in una diagonale alla Lanterna simbolo della città .

This old picture every time I see him I always like how the first time for the warm colors that are reflected in the mirror of water but also for pastel colors in the entire image. I wanted panoramic cut to emphasize the boats on the side of coming together in a diagonal to the Lantern symbol of the city.

Uno dei miei primi scatti con la nuova reflex. Era inevitabile non provare in uno dei posti più belli e affascinanti di Genova, il porto antico meta ambita di turisti italiani e stranieri. Questo specchio d'acqua si distingue per i meravigliosi colori caldi che colorano lo scenario al calar del sole.

One of Poland’s most beautiful cities, Gdansk, on the Baltic Sea, has played major roles in history, especially in the 20th-century. It was the 1939 flash point of World War II, and then in 1980, the birthplace of the Solidarnosc labor movement, ushering the end of Communist domination in Eastern Europe. Gdansk’s Old Town, painstakingly reconstructed to its Hanseatic League glory after being leveled in World War II, is a highlight. The 14th-century Town Hall houses the city’s historical museum.
