ایمنی در انبارهای آمریکا توسط مجموعه‌ای از استانداردهای سازمان ایمنی و بهداشت شغلی با نام OHSA، تنظیم می‌شود.استانداردهای انبارداری در کنگره آمریکا در 29 دسامبر 1970، توسط رئیس جمهور نیکسون تصویب شد. تمرکز اصلی OSHA جلوگیری از آسیب‌ها، بیماری‌ها و مرگ ناشی از کار است. از زمان تصویب استاندارد شغلی، 42 درصد آسیب‌ها و 62 درصد از مرگ و میرها ناشی از کار، کاهش یافت. در میان مشاغل، صنعت انبارداری بالاترین میانگین آسیب و جراحات کشنده را داشته است.
