oddly, I just wait for winter now...(I took the shot at 13hs, already getting dark)/ Kanske en dag...det kan låta konstigt, men jag väntar på att vintern skall komma nu...(tog bilden kl. 13, kändes som skymningen)/Algún día, aunque parezca raro, espero el invierno ahora...(tomé la foto a las 13hs, ya bajaba el sol) DSC_7869-2)

I believe that this is one of those off-color house finches - correct me if I'm wrong.

Oddly, I'd never visited this waterfall before, which is located out in the Western half of Massachusetts (the Berkshires). When I got there, it looked as if it was closed off for the winter, and the parking lot was shut. I parked on the remote road leading to the falls, hoping to not get towed in the next 15 min. The falls were actually quite impressive and with no-one around it was easy to get the composition that I wanted. There was a good flow of water and no major freezing yet. I happily found my car still along the side of the road, phew!

Also, one of the few photos captured with a tripod. I grudgingly admit that the photos are a bit sharper than handheld with this camera.

Best viewed in large.

oddly ornamentel fence, on a dirt road in the middle of Nowhere..., have a happy NY to all

Taken in Fort Walton Beach, FL. on a fishing/sightseeing pier. A storm was blowing in and for some reason really brought out the colors in the water. Saw some amazing things, my favorite was a large sea turtle!

Oddly, a conversion to mono for white snowdrops doesn’t always work!

Oddly, there was a marine layer over parts of SoCal on this mid-summer day when I met up with friends at the LA Arboretum. It was so cool and comfortable, I decided to climb up the stairs to a lookout view of the San Gabriels, and a water-featured garden. Hadn't been up there in several years. Not much of a view because of the cloud cover, but the water feature was nice and cool.

The oddly named Bellman's Castle, just below the summit of West Nab, Meltham Moor. The date and purpose are unknown, but it existed in the late 1800s and was a ruin by the 1920s.

Oddly Shaped Coneflower Macro ----- This Flower was in a Field of Brown-Eyed Susans. It looks like somehow three flowers were fused together into one.

Oddly shaped Myoukousan (妙高山) that looks like a lemon squeezer is a volcanic caldera located in Myoukou city, Niigata prefecture.

High-speed railway system called Hokuriku Shinkansen (北陸新幹線) was completed up to Kanazawa in 2015 to improve the traffic conditions in coastal areas facing the Sea of Japan including Niigata prefecture. It takes two hours from Tokyo to Jou'etsu city.

This photo was taken from a conventional train just after leaving the Jou'etsu - Myoukou station (上越妙高駅) for Nao'etsu (直江津), a port town on the Sea of Japan.

I suppose Jou'etsu city and Myoukou city fought to get a Shinkansen station. The final outcomes were the long station name and the location that is far from the both cities.

Oddly enough I felt a strong urge to take this portrait shot of Jonathan's dog originally - but by now our Boxer dog.

She was aged 13 and a good age for a Boxer but with a bit of arthritis in one hip.

Later in the week again down by the River Trent which we walk a lot...Sam inexplicably started to run from nearby us but away from us not towards us. She careered along not responding to our calling or whistling her. Jon had a job to catch her but he did and as usual we lifted her into the boot/hatchback of our car. I said Jon " look at her eyes " they had both covered over with a cloudy black. We also realised she had gone deaf too. We took her to her usual vet who diagnosed a brain tumour which had suddenly hit the optic nerve. As she often ignored us she may actually have been deaf for some time but having zero training by Jonathan we hadn't realized the extent of her deafness .She was euthanised the same day on the advice of the vet who had taken into consideration her age and also we had no way of knowing if she was in pain. She had had a wonderful long life though and we cherish the memories:)

This happened in 2019 but part of my series of pet portraits…

I am skin, soul

I am human

Nothing more than human

I am sweat, flaws

I am veins, scars

I am human

emerson's hair is a freaking disaster and has been since she arrived. (she came to me pre-loved)

but, i haven't ever tried to do anything about her hair b/c i don't want to mess her up.

but, i'm putting it on my list of stuff to do... she really needs it!

An oddly paired GP38-2 and Gevo spot a loaded boxcar of bricks on the W.R. Taylor Company spur off the Tarragona Street running trackage leading to the port of Pensacola. Once spotted, the crew will pick up the empty set out in the middle of Tarragona Street and head back to Goulding Yard. I can't even remember how many trips I've made to try and catch this move as it's extremely elusive and almost exclusively done at night. Depending on demand, W.R. Taylor might get as much as two cars a week or just one every two weeks or less. The only reason this happened in daylight (and barely as it was basically dark when they finished) is because the crew wanted to stay ahead of a storm and took care of it first thing on their shift.

W.R. Taylor receives brick shipments in these classic former-SP Hydro-Cushion boxcars from Columbus, MS. A few years ago they also still got high-cube boxcars from Chicago, but that has ended due to routing changes and the accompanying higher rates. W.R. Taylor is one of only a handful of customers in the entire country that still get serviced from a spur branching off of a street running section, so the operation is extremely unique. Pensacola, FL

Here is a link to a photo of the only other time I had managed to capture the move. It was back in 2017 and the crew was pulling a high-cube that had come in from Chicago during the more usual hours of this operation: flickr.com/photos/henry_dell/33865010663/in/album-7215771...

Oddly enough, an image of the shirts in my closet crossed my mind. I think, if everyday I could choose a good mood, like the shirt, wouldn't it be better!?

An oddly timed Job 2, the result of protests in Canada, allowed for a great morning chase east from Jackman on this sunny February day. Here, CMQ's Bangor & Aroostook heritage unit leads the train around the curve at Tarratine, ME, en route to Brownville.

Oddly comforting is a track by one of my playlist must haves, Ivor Cutler, all his little poems and songs are just wonderful! Lichens to me are always oddly comforting and are something of an obsession, though I don't spend any time identifying them, I just love seeing them!

Oddly named, the Eurasian Hobby falcon -

boomvalk (Falco subbuteo).

Good to see them return, a migratory bird of prey.

Not that close alas, distance 40 m.

Oddly enough, today is actually blanketed in fog. Wonderful Wednesday to you my friend.

Good thing I wake up early. I think I would've missed this light.

Oddly enough I never used to suffer from depression on cold, gray, cloudy days like this. I feel as if nature is in harmony with me, that it reflected my soul. ~Paulo Coelho~

Thanks for your visit and taking the time to comment so I can visit your photos, too... very much appreciated! My apologies if I cannot reply to all comments. Have a great day!

Under a hazy sky bright orange flowers attracted many pollinators.

This oddly shaped block of basalt is located near Badwater Road in Death Valley. It currently is about 8 feet tall; but has steadily diminished in size. There are photos of it from the early years of the park when it displayed a much larger head. At one time it was popular stop along Badwater Road but now there are no signs or designated parking area near it. In the past, people would climb up and stand on the top. Since it is not well known these days and appears to be somewhat fragile, it is good that it is not often visited. I am glad we were able to see it before it collapses.

It's oddly reassuring when others - especially people I deeply respect - admit that they too have gone through waves of paralyzing angst, suffocating anxiety, and overwhelming fatalistic despair these past few weeks. While we're trying to social distance, it's easy to forget sometimes that we are ALL holding our breath and doing our very best to get through this - in our own way and amid our own, unique circumstances. I honestly wish everyone love and strength during these difficult times.

Even a Wet Dandelion has some Natural Beauty.

Oddly enough this was taken a while ago right near where I'm getting married in a little over a month. We took big umbrellas and took pictures out in the drizzle.

Oddly, CP power on a CSX Q388-31 make the scene at Hick Tower on the NS. Happy New Year!

Oddly enough my first CN SD75 rebuild I would see was this one leading the MGALCHI on the BNSF.

Going to try the same shot in the evening when the sun is coming from the opposite direction. Also, I want to try this with my beloved 50mm Distagon when it comes back from its CLA.

Oddly enough I'm seeing more fall color in November. Not that long ago I would expect most of the leaves to have fallen by now.

This somewhat oddly shaped building is Lyon's new museum. Located on the banks of the Rhone river, at the exact confluence of the Rhône and Saône rivers (hence its name), it opened in 2014.

Successor to the Guimet Natural History Museum in Lyon, it is a museum of natural history, anthropology, societies, and civilizations. It houses permanent collections and temporary exhibitions.

From its summit, you can enjoy beautiful views on Lyon.

Oddly, the pieces of tissue paper have been scattered, and she is not on one of them. Taken by Edgar.

Oddly enough this door is number four in the series. Enjoy.

Oddly enough I spotted this one in the elk grove located in Elk Grove Village. What a coincidence.
