ODC - SHINE is the topic for monday 30th January 2011
Taken with the new iPhone7 Plus in portrait mode. The depth effect is a hit and a miss at times but for a camera on a phone/in your pocket it is pretty amazing.
ODC:Shine
For Teleidescope Week 5 Memory and ODC shine. This is my second attempt at an image built from some my old photographs from the days of film. I am far more pleased with this compared to the original. I applied a number of new techniques I learned to create this image. I also used my SB 800 at 1/128 off camera to get that shine effect on the selfie. The idea for placing the flash in the box came from something I saw on ODC and a truck's image "its alive". The idea of playing with the perspective came from pianogram's Fine I also had the idea to save a copy of my work flow for this image before saving it as a jpeg.

Café Central (Centrál Kávéház) - Budapest
The Central is one of the oldest Vienna-style café-restaurants in Pest, having opened its doors in 1887. Journalists, writers, actors, painters, musicians and university professors frequented this coffee house, as it was open 24 hours. Many famous Hungarian artists also became regulars here. Coffee, desserts and traditional Hungarian dishes are served.

Hello gang.... I'm working late so supper will be whatever I can scrounge up in the office tonight. I thought it woud be good to take a colorful photo of these M&M's before I ate them. Not pictured is the Coca Cola I am going to wash them down with. Take a good look because by the time I post this they will be history. So long fellas!

It took several tries to get the water toss coordinated so the water fell just right to pour you all some sunshine. After some wild throws and one where the pail itself went flying she found the sweet spot.

This logo on the front of my Jeep has managed to stay pretty shiny over the past 10 years.

Another quick stop on my way from my regular job to my Friday night part-time job. I'm still here, just had a few minutes to upload and post my comment.
It's going to be a great weekend. A friend of mine called right as I pulled in the parking lot here at work tonight and we're going to breakfast/coffee tomorrow morning. It will be so good to see her and I look forward to finding the joy in the rest of the weekend. I hope yours is equally wonderful.

Shizandra and I took a quick backyard walk this morning just as the sun was coming up over the Sandia Mountains. I didn't stay outside long, it was only 40'F. Shizandra on the other hand loved it and didn't come in for a while.

Built by George Washington's sister, Betty Washington Lewis, and her husband, Fielding Lewis, this beautiful, Georgian-style, brick mansion reflects the pre-Revolutionary-War wealth and status of the Fredericksburg merchant.
During the Revolutionary War, Lewis loaned the state of Virginia money to build and support a gun factory in Fredericksburg. At the time of his death in 1781, he was still owed £7000, but it was never repaid.
In front stands another piece of history, what was once a stock twentieth century blue Harley Davidson Fatboy, slightly retooled and turned into a far more comfortable ride with lots of shiny chrome. It is now known as a Fatgirl. :)

ODC-Shine & Weathering (Car)
This is one of the handles on Stu's 1990 Dodge Caravan. It still runs and has very little damage. Except the inside isn't in great shape, but it works so that's what's important.

12. A sentimental piece of jewellery (msh0614-12 and msh0614)
My parents had this chain made when I had my first baby in 2001. It rests on a musical trinket box given to me by my husband before we got married.
What a gorgeous day today. Mike and I went down to Ann Arbor, had lunch and I got pics of some pretty cool places.
I had a crazy day (and the next couple will be crazy too), and never even snapped a shot with my iPhone, let alone the big girl camera. It was late, I needed a shot, so I put on teh macro extension tubes and looked around for texture. any texture. I had this red, irridescent/glittery ribbon on my desk. I snapped it just as it was, on the spool. No tripod. Just the camera on the desk, pointing at the ribbon. I was going for artfully abstract, but SOOC it just didn't appeal to me. So, I processed the heck out of it. Et, voila! Actually, I still don't like it much, but it's a photo - better than nothing.

Nightmares, probably.
Not what I had intended to set out to do for today, but tired, stressed and fed up all came together to create this. Possibly the most surreal shot I have ever done, not sure if it even counts as a selfie anymore - is it recognisably me?!

ODC - Shine (kinda reminds me of the "here's Jonny" bit from The Shining.)
Looks best on black, of course "best" depends very much on your desire to sleep tonight. I won't appear in your bedroom I promise. At least not until AFTER you have turned the light out. MWHAHAHAHAHA!!!
In case you are wondering how it was done - It's a ten second exposure with two strobes - one on the camera, one in a softbox camera right. Camera was set to second curtain sync. Room was lit by a "normal" household ceiling light. I triggered the shutter, then weaved my hands in front of the lens while counting to 10 in my head, when I got to 9 I posed in the position as the flash went off. The colour is from a negative invert then colourise saturation to red, followed by some other stuff which I will call "generally f*#king about" in CS5.
