My phlox are in full bloom, and I am so excited because I just love them. They keep blooming like this year after year, and I don’t have to do a thing to them except keep the dandelions out.

I made a huge tray of these today, and using the convection setting makes them crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I just love them!

Rainbow In My World Today

by - Casarah Nance www.poetrysoup.com/poems_poets/poems_by_poet.aspx?ID=47419

There is a rainbow in my world today,

With every word your write my way.

Colors of emotions flow in harmony,

as they spread across the sky in unity.

Wrap me in your red, orange and blue,

fill me with the violet passion of you.

You make the sky shine after that rain,

softly your soul pushes away the pain.

In every luxurious line that you say,

you are the rainbow in my world today.

The coins underneath are Roman and about 1700 years old, but the one on the top is a Celtic Potin which dates to about 50 BC. These are amongst the earliest coins used in Britain. They were made of cast bronze and cast in strips then snapped off the strips. This one was cast by the Canti Tribe of Kent and shows the head of their god Apollo on the obverse (shown). Easy one today read the theme and shot my breakfast. Done. Perfect challenge for a busy day!

Blossoms on my Prairie Fire crabapple tree. I took this in the rain while holding an umbrella in one hand, and my camera in the other. Sadly this will be the tree’s last spring, as I am having it replaced. It blooms spectacularly in the spring, but has poor foliage the rest of the summer and fall. I have consulted an arborist and he said it wasn’t planted properly and the roots are very shallow. This is only its third year. The best thing to do long term is to replace it with a new tree and make sure it is planted properly.

I've been drinking this off and on for around 25 years. I first had it up in Canada and never forgot how healthy it was. I can even use this to make things like milk shakes and coffee ice-cream. I'm sure once the warm weather arrives I'll make some!

I have collected quite a few fridge magnets to remember the places we've visited. I think I left a little piece of my heart in San Fran. What a lovely city. We went over a very foggy Golden Gate Bridge and stopped in Sausalito for some fresh fruit. It was so delicious!

Is there a Canadian that doesn't immediately recognize this face? Introduced on Canadian Tire Money in 1958, the fictional character represented is referred to as "Sandy McTire" and sports a tam and a stylized waxed moustache. He is based on no specific individual but is assumed to represent a thrifty Scotsman.
