Thank you all for your kind comments.
Dust settles over the past
obscuring the truth
creating a feeling of
Nostalgia.
Pushing all the pain
and regret
just out of frame
in a captured falsehood.

Thought I'd do an evening reconnaissance trip to Stokksnes despite our late arrival in nearby Hofn and the unpromising weather. Clouds were moving in and never cleared but at least they provided a dramatic mood over Vestrahorn.
I realize this won't be to everyone's taste, and it was different for me as well. But I had to take it. I probably have to describe what this is, as I wouldn't even know if I hadn't taken it :)
I was walking on the outer walkway of the second floor of a building with the sun shining in from the left. There was a wooden railing to the left and the building was to the right, with windows from floor to ceiling. As I only had my Pentacon AV lens with me, and it has a fixed aperture of f2.8, I could either focus on the foreground or the background, and I tried both, but choose the foreground focus, leaving the entire rest of the image in bokeh. So what you see is the railing, the shadows from it, and the reflections duplicated in the windows at the right, with the window frames in the centre, but not entirely symmetrical. Hope that makes sense!

Just two rings which I've pieced together for the photo. Actually three rings, because the plain golden one consists of two combined rings, kind of a double ring. The other ring with those tiny droplets / beads going all around is made of silver. I like to use both together, so I photographed them together, placed onto the silver side of a gold and silver coated piece of cardboard which once was used in a food wrapping. This is an image taken last night, but apparently I had too much time today, because I still tried a few focus stacks with different light and with the rings on top of a glossy black tile, but liked none in the end. So back to yesterday's image which I've processed in DXO PhotoLab 4 (sharpness, micro contrast and denoising with Deep Prime only), then in Analog Efex for the vignette and a very subtle matte look, and finally in Luminar AI, where I'd enhanced a few details (in the painting mask), added a very subtle glow, and slightly brightened the lower part of the silver ring with the dodge and burn tool.
Happy Macro Monday, Everyone, stay safe and healthy!
Tucked up against a tree trunk within a spruce tree, a Saw-whet Owl (Aegolius acadicus) can be difficult to spot. Their tiny size--they stand only seven to eight inches tall--and striated coloration help them disappear into the dappled shadows. There, they wait for nightfall, when darkness overtakes light and the world is enveloped in the earth's own shadow. Then the owl strikes out into the air, flitting silently up to an open tree branch from which it can gaze down upon the leaf litter and await the movement of an ill-fated mouse. In the surprise of being eaten, the mice will lose their heads--often literally, with the owls eating only their heads!
Spring is trying to make a comeback, but sometimes one has to look carefully for the signs. They are there if only we pay attention...

I pass through this section of Cornwall's bike path on my daily commute. It runs parallel to a series of electric towers that cut through the Riverdale forest. Only a few are visible with the snowfall.
I spotted this 64 Pontiac Bonneville with Buick hubcaps 😂 at The Purpose Park on Indianapolis' near west side. Reminiscent of Cadillac Ranch.
