Am Abend des 22.11.2021 sollte WSW KOM 0570 als letzter WSW Citaro die Citaro Filiale der WSW schließen. Von 2002 bis 2021 und somit fast 19 Jahre prägten der Citaro von den Baujahren 2002,2003 und 2005 das Stadtbild in Wuppertal. Zusammen bestellt mit Optisch gleichen Fahrzeugen in Remscheid und Hagen. Während in Hagen schon etwas früher die Ära zu Ende ging, hält sich in Remscheid aktuell nurnoch ein Citaro wacker. Die Frage ist nur, wie lange noch?

One of the rarest sightings in my times of bus spotting was of Fomer travel Coventry’s 6015. Despite being preserved and the possibility that it regularly attends events, I was not expecting to see this here! I think this is worthy of a bit of vehicle history:
It was new to Travel Coventry in May 2003, following a similar registration to the 44** B7TL’s which are still in service after all this time. It was initially branded for the route 4 until it was painted into the blue and white which it still carries to this day.
It was taken out of service in 2018 before being preserved in 2020. It made its first public appearance in 2021 and hasn’t been photographed since 2023 from a check on flikr. It was out of action for most of 2024 unfortunately. I am unsure of the reason(s) to why…
Thankfully, I managed to photograph it in 2024 with three days to spare! It lies down a random country lane by the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas It is visible off the A38, and as of uploading, it is still there!
Initially, trident 4370 which is also a former Coventry vehicle was sat here a few weeks prior to this. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get a photo of it, however I have seen it when it attended the Wythall bus fest in Gaydon so not the end of the world…
Photographing this has definitely made up for it!

However, I decided to leave this as a surprise instead! The fact that this was sat down a narrow country lane put some question marks in my mind since it’s one of the longest vehicles on British roads! There was a slight haziness which added to an ‘abandoned’ theme in the photo perhaps.
Finally my luck of bus spotting changed for the better!

It later operated as Konectbus number 801 before joining the Poke (J&V), Stromness fleet on Orkney in April 2018.
It is seen here in Kirkwall operating a cruise ship shuttle with Orkney Transport where it has operated since July 2024.
Flutura MB O530G W FR 2165 (ex WSW KOM 0565) auf dem S9 SEV in Velbert-Rosenhügel, als der Wagen noch bei der WSW lief war er oft auf den Linien 647 und 649, und somit oft in dieser Gegend unterwegs.
