I wanted to talk about the diversity in the Integrity Toys’ lineup of dolls this year and why this has been a dream come true for me personally. I mean, we’re not even half way done with what has been unveiled so far and for sure there is more to come as Convention season is just right around the corner. With the reintroduction of the ITBE line and with Nu.Face’s comeback, Integrity Toys is given an opportunity to give us more range and variety this year which has been missing for quite some time. Basically I wanted to talk about faces and their inspirations, or what I’m assuming are the inspirations behind them. So the top row are, pretty much, the dream dolls. They have facial features that I thought are ideal for each of those characters in the world of FR. They are dolls that I thought would be forever in my imagination and I just could not believe that Integrity Toys is actually producing them as if they are reading my mind when they designed them. While the bottom row are dolls that I feel needs their faces refreshed and along with them are some of the individuals who I thought are ideal in terms of facial features.
Dominique I feel has always been underrated, but I genuinely love her more than current Adele. The fact that we have a miniature Joan Smalls, one of my favorite fashion models right now and probably forever, is a dream. A lot of people think that Dominique is too old to be part of Nu.Face… But what is too old really? I can see her in her mid 20s. Plus Nu.Face is a modeling agency, not a clique of the hip and the young. I like to think that Nu.Face handles models that can work the runway and can do print ads whether they’re cute as a button like Erin or striking and fierce like Dominique. I mean that’s how it is in the real fashion industry anyways. You have the unconventional beauties like Lindsey Wixson and Daphne Groenveld and then you have breathtaking beauties such as Joan Smalls and Daria Werbowy. I’m glad that the designers see her potential but from some of the comments I’ve read about her is that they don’t like her face sculpt. Um, no gurl! She’s perfect as is. I say it’s all about the styling. The latest Dominique, Electric Enthusiasm is not the most likable due to her edgy look. She just needs to tone down her make-up palette next time for her to sell. I’m happy to see her part of Nu.Face because it gives her a moment to shine and that gives her more edge over her rival cousin Adele.
A few months ago I was browsing the web for models that could serve as inspiration for the ideal face sculpt for Nadja 2.0 to share to the W Club Forums, and out of all of the them Sudanese model Ajak Deng stood out. I mean that woman is just so strikingly beautiful. True enough the newly refreshed Nadja looks like her! I just couldn’t believe my eyes how that came true, lips and all. I know a lot of people wanted Nadja to look like Lupita Nyong’o, because for one she’s very chic and she’s Hollywood’s It girl, but I just have a different beauty in mind. For sure we’re going to miss her original face sculpt but Nu.Face is currently in the process of an overhaul and the face sculpts are becoming more refined. My worry for Nadja is how well her new face sculpt photographs because her old one was so photogenic. No doubt Polarity Nadja is the best doll released this year clad in a to-die-for Balmain inspired fashion. She’s definitely a dream come true!
Because we have a bunch of dolls that resemble top fashion models, I really thought it would be amazing if they release a doll who looks like Sessilee Lopez. I’m still obsessed with that girl even if she’s not walking the runways of Milan, Paris and London anymore. While Barbie Collector’s Pazette face sculpt reminded me of Sessilee, the model-like expression that I’m looking for is not really there. Rayna’s face sculpt came to mind and I thought she would look really beautiful with a dark skin tone. Sessilee most of the time puts tension on her lips whenever she’s walking the runway or being photographed and that really reminded me of Rayna. Although Rayna seems like there’s tension on both her lips and nose which makes her look like she has a pinched nose look on some angles. Nonetheless her sculpt is a front runner for a doll resembling Sessilee Lopez. Rare Jewel Rayna will be my little Sessilee for now. The fact that she has the Rock Me Baby face screening, um, supremo! She’s a dream and I can’t wait to have her soon!
The reason why I didn’t include Annik here even if I wanted a new face sculpt for her is that Rare Jewel Rayna is pretty much how I want Annik to look like. Don’t get me wrong, she is beautiful but I’ve always been partial with her. I just don’t find Annik as likable as Nadja. I find her hard edged and severe. I somehow wanted her features softened up a little bit. Like she could still have defined cheekbones but she somehow needs to compliment Nadja in a way that they could be related or they could be bestfriends. My issue with Annik’s face sculpt is probably the same issue I have with Adele 3.0. I think it’s the height of the nose and the square-ish cheeks that’s driving me bonkers. I love the two versions of Annik and I want them in my collection but you know, she’s not my favorite. Nadja is at the very top while Annik is at the very bottom.
There are certain characters in Fashion Royalty that needs their face refreshed and Perry Marino is definitely one of them. Definitely! I've thought of this really hard and I somehow don't want to take inspiration from any men in Hollywood. So I thought "why not Tom Ford?" He's good looking, he's very influential in the fashion industry, he is likable but kind of intimidating at the same time, he's always put together and he's 53 years old this year. Very Perry Marino, right? But the issue with the Perry Marino sculpt is obvious. It doesn't belong in the world of FR. He reminds me of a He-Man action figure. I think Perry's sculpt should have a slight smirk (and not an open-mouth) and he has to look conceited not constipated. He has to look older though but still attractive. I mean, let's face it. No one wants to buy an ugly doll! Let's be real. The doll world is a superficial world. One thing that would make him look older is by giving him a slightly receding hairline or maybe a V Shaped hairline will do and maybe give him some hint of facial lines and wrinkles. I mean, that's one thing I love about Integrity dolls. The subtle imperfections of their dolls make them somehow attractive. I think he needs to be as visually striking as Lukas but maybe 15 or 20 years older and he has to look good next to Natalia or Eugenia. Integrity Toys recently designed new face sculpts for the male Color Infusion dolls at the Convention last year and I say FR: Homme needs to top them off. While the brand is in the process of a renovation, I am expecting that a handful of them gets new face sculpts except for Lukas, Darius and Takeo that is. They’re perfection and don’t really need to be changed.
While I wanted Nadja to look like Ajak Deng, I wanted Colette to retain her Rihanna-like features. I mean, not look like her entirely but to have the same type of beauty as Rihanna. Again, the height of the nose is vital and I think it has to remain the same as her old nose. The shape of the head I’m imagining is less round and the cheekbones a little bit defined this time. I’m expecting a few tweaks on her features rather than a major face lift for her. Kinda like how they did it with Erin. Refined but still recognizable as their old selves.
You know, I could put Naomi Campbell or Beyoncé serving as inspiration for Adele here. Those two have been the major influence for her for sure. But I thought I should choose someone new and I thought of Jamaican model Kai Newman who reminds me so much of Naomi in the 90s. Definitely the type of beauty that I see in Adele. She’s fierce yet amiable, she’s soft yet striking. Just some of the things I miss with Adele. With her current face sculpt, that softness is gone. I just don’t find her as pleasant as she used to be, and again, that I think has something to do with the height of her nose and her lips being shut. The last three Adele 3.0s that were released have been lackluster for me and I can’t stress that enough. Yes they brought Adele 2.0 back at last year’s Convention and she was amazing, but that seemed to be a one-shot. The 2.0 sculpt is retired which means we’re not going to see it often. The designers have stated that they choose to use certain sculpts whenever they feel like it. Why can’t we settle for just one? If it was really up to me, I think Adele needs her face refreshed again and I think she should have her 2.0 nose and open-mouth back but maybe tweak her sculpt a little bit by give her more definition on the cheeks and fix the neck issue that the old sculpts have. That’s all I really want for her and I can finally stop moaning and whining. LOL Dominique, Jordan and now Nadja is definitely kicking Adele’s butt. As harsh as it sounds, she’s no longer a major player within the FR Universe I feel, not if she keeps her current 3.0 face sculpt. I usually say “It’s all about styling” but not this time. I’ve pretty much given up on her. The designers have tried but it’s not working for me.

The hard cap wig by PattaArt was made for Inamorata Inro LE30 on 2013 and the hair ornament was part of the original prototype for the limited edition doll, but it was too complicated for manufacturing.

Hey guys and welcome back to another ‘This Week in the News’! I got a lot of stories and some big ones for you all today so let’s get to it!
The first story of the week is that Martin Freeman has been casted in Captain America: Civil War! There are no details yet on his role but rumor has it that he will be playing an interrogator and will return in Black Panther. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets this kind of role because I don’t really see him as a superhero.
The next story is that Marvel has put out a new official poster for Ant-Man!! Oh man, can’t this movie be out already?!?! I’ve been waiting SO LONG for this film!!!! I can’t even control my hype levels right now!!!
The next story of the week is that Universal Studios Orlando is partnering up with Nintendo to have a Nintendo-themed area in their theme park! This sound awesome, it’s about time Nintendo does something like this with their IPs, what kind of Nintendo theme park ideas do you guys have? Leave them in the comments!
The next story is that a Splatoon direct came out which gave us a lot of sweet information on the upcoming game. I’m so excited for this game, it looks soooo fun!
The next story of the week is that Marvel has released a new official synopsis of Captain America: Civil War that confirms a shitload of characters joining the film, here, read it:

The next story is that Thanks to Vanity Fair's recent coverage of J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we finally learned that the true name (she'd been given the codename "Rose") of Lupita Nyong'o's character was Maz Kanata, and she was some kind of space pirate. Now Indie Revolver has posted some new concept art which should give us a pretty good idea of how she'll actually look in the movie. Eh, this is just some concept art, so it could be different, but for now I’m not a fan of it.
The final story of the week is that today is Mother’s day! So Deadpool is her to tell you guys to go hug your mom today, or make her breakfast, or just do something with your her! So happy Mother’s Day guys!!!

45/52 Recreate a famous photograph – one that you greatly admire.
This one stumped me for a bit. It’s not that I don’t admire a famous photograph, I do, but which one would I recreate? I’ve always thought the Ellen selfie was a fun shot and since I work with a really fun group of people, I thought it would be fun to try and recreate it with their help! I sent out an email at work, looking for participants and my cast of characters were quick to respond. I think they did a pretty great job in their roles!
