This is my cover of La Chanson Des Vieux Cons and a little video that I shot and also a little story I wrote. When I happened across this little Snail Trail I was absolutely enchanted. Seems that it was in celebration of a child's 1st Birthday : 0) The video is a bit jerky due to being hand-held and off the cuff, but I hope you will agree it gives itself a little je ne sais quoi and charm : 0) Also I am extremely clumsy and knocked one of the stones flying with my lens, but who knows, maybe that's the one who was the star of the flying trapeze!!! ; 0)))) I could only fit half the song and half the video in due to the limitation of time allowed by Flickr, but I don't think it detracts too much from what I hoped to achieve. Certainly I won't be winning any awards at the Cannes Film Festival, ha ha!! ; 0)))

Story of the little pebble who became a snail who became a circus star …
A little pebble from the beach
had a dream one day
he dreamt that he was a beautiful snail
sitting on the sea wall in this pretty bay
a pebble is allowed to dream
his wishes can come true
he deserves a chance to live his dream
he is as worthy as me and you
well someone made his dream come true
he was chosen and taken from the beach
a little child painted a snail on him
and let him wish that he could teach
so he taught a few of the other pebbles
and they were also drawn upon
they lined up on the sea wall
but never forgot where they came from
but the first stone was getting itchy feet
he wanted to travel fast
and snails are very slow creatures
and he wanted to have a blast
the circus had come to the green one night
the lights were bright and beckoned
he was excited to see inside the tent
it would be heaven or so he reckoned
he looked behind him at the other snails
and he came to this conclusion
he would run away with the circus folk
he was under no illusion
everybody gets to dream
and some dream big and some dream small
but this little pebble who was now a snail
dreamed that he could have it all
so off he went; his home on his back
he sneaked into the circus ring
next day they were gone and so was he
I heard them go and he was laughing
so if the circus comes to your town
look out for this little snail
remember that he used to be a stone
but now he leaves a blazing trail
jumping through a ring of fire
riding on a pony
swinging high on the trapeze above

Looking at the Nyong River, in the central area of Cameroon, in the side of the forest, there are crocodiles, several monkeys including chimpanzees, gorillas, antelopes, turtles, many birds also rare, and the "parrot of Gabon".
The only possibility is to enter the canoe.

I watched BP today, and guess what? It was f***ing awesome!
So the movie starts off with a brief prologue of Wakanda’s origins and the vibranium. We skip to the timeframe, which is set a week after Civil War, since it mentions the bombing and T’Chaka’s death, so this movie is set in 2016. The king, T’Challa, returns home for his coronation and his family. Then conflict arises when enemies appear and Killmonger threatens Wakanda....I’ll just stop there, you guys can see it for yourself, this is my brief plot synopsis and probably the shortest.
In terms of story, this is pretty good, and doesn’t really have a big impact to the wider MCU, but this can be watched as a stand-alone (or watch Civil War first, as part of T’Challa’s quest/story arc). I like how the flow goes, and Coogler handles it very consistently with the themes and tone.
For the cast, I’d say they all did a superb job, mainly Chadwick Boseman, whose action sequences and acting is stellar, we see him deal with some of his inner conflicts and responsibility to be king. The supporting cast is pretty well, like Shuri (Letitia Wright), is super-smart and savvy, she is also the comic relief, and most hilarious moments come from her. I love how the movie showed the sibling relationship of brother and sister. She totally deserves a movie as well! Okoye (Danai Gurira), Nakia (Lupita Nyong'o), Everett Ross (Martin Freeman), M'Baku (Winston Duke), Ramonda (Angela Bassett), W'Kabi (Daniel Kaluuya) and Zuri (Forest Whitaker) are pretty good characters as well.
The villains of this film are quite decent, but I'll start of with Klaue (Andy Serkis), who returns from Age of Ultron, and continues on his path of smuggling, black market dealing, he is a total gangster. He isn't that bad, but I wish I could see more of him. Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) plays a highly convincing villain, because he has a reason for his plans, and it makes sense. His skills are on par with BP. I have to say he is one of the good villains within the MCU, besides Loki, Kingpin, Red Skull, Hela, Vulture and etc.
Last but not least I gotta say the accents were pretty spot on, but in some shots they slip for a little bit. African, Wakandan and some bits of Korean are spoken as well, the visuals and scenery were highly amazing, it's mindblowing to see how beautiful Wakanda is futuristic and traditional at the same time. I loved the tech, suits, weapons and vehicles at the same time. Good action sequences, nice cultures of Africa, awesome music, the themes of royalty, family, honour, loyalty, and some politics factor into this movie quite well. The humour and drama are also balanced well, so you don’t always get too much jokes around.
Bonus: Shuri's humour, accents, Korea (I liked the location and the sequence) Makes me wish vibranium and Wakanda were real. Plus the two post credit scenes (last one is guaranteed to make you surprised). I will give this movie a 9.8/10.

So this is one option. I will have more up later! I quite like this, hope you do too! It really would mean a lot to be in CHIC. It's one of my goals on Flickr for sure. It's the best magazine in the community! Anyway, for the photos I'm doing (including this one) I have been getting inspired by the new and continuing trends from New York Fashion Week! I am loving prints, especially the printed skirts! The coats are also amazing, which I'm inspired by for some of my other options which will be up later :)

… And we’re back to regular programming. So there’s always been a notion that black or dark skinned dolls don’t sell well. Do you guys agree? Probably the reason why Integrity Toys make a lower edition size for them or in Out of Sight Nadja’s case, a Giveaway Souvenir which was something that I suggested last year since she was um… out of sight. I was anticipating that she would show up last year but it took a year for that to happen… or scratch that… it took seven years for that to happen. I for one think she’s one of the best dolls from the Convention and even if I had to pay for her, I would gladly hand my money to IT. I have a certain fondness towards this new version of Nadja because even before her return there were already discussions of how she’s going to look like for her refreshed face at the W Club Forum and I specifically said that I wanted her to look like Sudanese model Ajak Deng and that came true! I really have no other model in mind but the beautiful Ajak. She’s no longer sweet looking like her old sculpt or she might not be as likable as I think she would be and that’s what I was worried about with this new version, but I was wrong. Nadja photographs really well with her new look. I think she’s perfection from her thick eyebrows, to her lip color, to the side glancing eyes and to her golden eyeshadows. Nadja isn’t really the sweetest character within the Fashion Royalty universe. She always had an attitude… and wouldn’t you if you had a face like that? I was thinking she was going to have a Lupita Nyong’o Ralph Lauren moment since the theme was red carpet for Nu.Face. The all-black ensemble wasn’t really what I have in mind for her but I don’t hate this. It’s very 90s chic. I thought that I only need two looks for Nadja then I’m done. One with flocked hair and another with middle part pin straight hair. Nope. I would love to see her with blonde flocked hair, an afro and one with bangs, a high ponytail and red hair a la Hard Act To Follow. So the possibilities of future looks for Nadja are endless and I would love to see more of her. Currently she is my muse. I think she surpassed Le Smoking and even The Muse Adele. Like, for reals.
