Delicious taste.

They can be a nuisance and invasive in the garden, but Omnom if you are out hiking and grab a couple, they are all over the place now - its like an explosion of taste in your mouth.

FunFact

Have you heard of this expression;

"She blew a raspberry"

It means a sound made with the tongue and lips in order to express derision or contempt.

White flowers make up the umbel of a goutweed bloom, which closely resembles that of Queen Anne's lace, both in the carrot family (Apiaceae).

Common Names: ground elder, herb gerard, bishop's weed, goutweed, gout wort, snow-in-the-mountain, English masterwort, wild masterwort, goutweed bishop's

Noisy Landing - Canada Goose arriving at Bombay Hook NWR in Delaware.

Because they are so common and often considered to be a nuisance, I noticed that I had not posted a photograph of a Canada Goose for many months. When you take the time to look at them, they have beautiful intricate feather patterns on the wings.

A species of monkey found throughout the country. These are probably the largest monkey species in India, but unlike their more aggressive and nuisance cousins - the Rhesus Macaque, these are quiet and not troublesome.

The forest area we visited had little birding activity on this day due to heavy rains, but we sighted a large family of Langurs foraging on the trees dotting the hillside slope overlooking the temple - this the place where the forest starts and extends 200-300 kms south. There were several young ones and one Infant (that is what baby monkeys are called!) all of them were playful and having fun on the nearby trees. This adult was keeping a watch on its children I suppose.

Several Rhesus Macaques made close movements nearby due to which the adult Langur in this picture bared its teeth warning them not to venture closer. The Macaques had strength in numbers - around 40-50 of them, but there are only 2-3 Langur adults. Luckily, the Macaques maintained their distance and there was no conflict. Sometimes, conflict breaks out between various species of monkeys in that area and its a nightmare moving around and avoiding them.

Thanks in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated.

This is a Striated Caracara, known in the Falklands as a "Johnny Rook". It was a fairly constant pest, as well as a predator of eggs and small chicks. While walking, gangs of these guys would sometimes surround us, jump on our backpacks, and in general make a nuisance of themselves. If you got too close to a nest, usually hidden from sight, you would know it from their aggressive attacks to your head.

Fishing birds make for great entertainment., and great for photography

Add a few scavenging Gulls determined to make a nuisance of themselves and you have a recipe for all sorts of action

They managed to snatch a few fish away from the hard working Egrets., but this one did managed to hold onto its catch (just!)

Thanks for taking time to view, fave and comment. Thats much appreciated!

A blue waxbill showing of its vibrant colours in the early morning light.

Fun fact about these birds. They often choose to build their nests near wasp nests. It is believed this might be a way to avoid arboreal ants (competition for food and just a potential nuisance to them), which the wasps also deter.

History of the Mill

Windmills have featured in Lytham’s history for hundreds of years. In 1805 Richard Cookson sought and obtained a lease from the Squire for a plot of land on which to build a ‘windy milne’. Later, in 1860, when the prestigious houses in the area were being built the residents looked upon the Windmill as an “industrial nuisance”! On the 2nd January 1919, a tremendous gale turned the sales despite the powerful brake and sparks ignited the woodwork. The Windmill was quickly ravaged by fire, the interior being entirely gutted. The Windmill remained derelict until 1921, when it was given by the Squire to the Lytham Urban District Council. In 1989, the Windmill was restored by Fylde Borough Council and opened to the public. Lytham Windmill is run in partnership with Fylde Borough Council and Lytham Heritage Group.

These grow by the harbor side roads and they are invasive plants,

Viewed by most as an invasive species, these plants are seen as relentless nuisances that need to be destroyed. What most people don't realize is that this abundant plant is both edible and highly medicinal!

They sure look pretty!

Herb Robert (Geranium robertianum) has small crane’s-bill pink flowers and pungent foliage. It grows commonly in shaded areas where it can be a useful ground cover but its tendency to selfseed can make it a nuisance as a garden weed.

This small body of water is located not to far from my house and is a popular spot for a variety of waterfowl. In fact, so many geese frequent this spot the landowner is searching for a way to scare the birds away. They have become a nuisance and are destroying the grass meant to feed his cows. I live in the middle of cattle country here in southeast Oklahoma. Comments and suggestions are always appreciated. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!

"Quick Mom, before they catch us!"

Rather odd activity spotted at Waterton's Red Rock Canyon parking lot. This bighorn sheep lamb appears to be on the alert for the van's owner while Mama checks out it's rear end. The very courteous Warden (i.e. Ranger, thanks James) said this is actually a real nuisance: the sheep lick the chemicals off the outsides of the catalytic converters, particularly looking for any salts. Problem is they sometimes get their horns stuck while doing so, which is dangerous for both the animal and vehicle. The Rangers have to gently untangle them while the sheep panics and thrashes around. This can be dangerous for the Wardens as well.

She did get out by herself, wasn't harmed.

The lamb seemed relieved and appreciated having her attention again.

Hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start!

There are so many deer around the neighborhood now they are a bit of a nuisance but the young ones still make for some good photo ops occasionally.

While waiting for its owner on the back of a vehicle, this mutt was full of concentration watching a couple of wasps that were making a nuisance of themselves.

A squirrel!

I should've guessed. There is nothing in the world Blanca loves more than stalking a squirrel! Back when we lived in Florida, there were so many of them running around that it became a real nuisance sometimes when I was walking her because every 20 feet Blanca would spot a squirrel and freeze in place!

There certainly are squirrels here in the coastal Oregon woods but they tend to stay out of sight high up in the trees and we rarely encounter one. They don't even come for the birdseed.

So that is why this was an unusual and absolutely thrilling moment for Blanca! They are really making eye contact here.

I was delicately adjusting my camera’s manual focus trying to get the flowers refracted in the water drops in perfect detail. When I finally got it just the way I wanted the sun poked out from behind some tree branches, shined down on the water drops, and washed out my carefully crafted composition. This nuisance of nature required slight changes in perspective and aperture to compensate. Ah well, I suppose one man’s distracting glare is another’s spectacular sparkle.

This is just an Egyptian goose I met at Monrepos earlier that week. They are very common, in some areas they are even considered as a nuisance but I like them because of they usually friendly behaviour. And they are pretty ... :)

Capetown

Pigeon photo taken on the streets of Cape Town, South Africa.

The Rock Dove (Columba livia,) is the wild ancestor of domestic Pigeons the world over, which were originally domesticated to provide food. Feral Pigeons come in all shades, some bluer, others blacker – some are pale grey with darker checked markings, others an unusual shade of dull brick-red or cinnamon-brown. Some can be more or less white while others look exactly like wild Rock Doves. They can be considered a nuisance in urban areas where numbers are allowed to increase.

The habitat of the rock pigeons are urban and suburban areas, marine and Intertidal, and farmland. They weigh 230-370g. Their wingspan is 63-70cm. Their diet is seeds and cereals. - Wikipedia.

Branta canadensis:- The canada goose is a large goose, with a distinctive black head and neck and large white throat patch. An introduced species from North America, it has successfully spread to cover most of the UK. It forms noisy flocks and is often regarded as a nuisance in areas where large numbers occur on amenity grassland and parks.

Photographed in my yard. These beetles are more abundant than pasy years but as far as I can tell they are only taking small bites out of milkweed and grape leave. Hopefully they don't become a nuisance. IMG_8903

Bumblebees only sting when they feel threatened or panic. They will never, like some wasps, cause a nuisance. They are interested in flowers, not in people. Not even when those people are sitting on a terrace in the summer enjoying drinks and other sweet treats. So there is no reason to combat bumblebees. In fact, this is prohibited because they are protected. tuinierenopzand.blogspot.com/2019/03/wat-je-moet-weten-ov...

I do always feel a bit bad for the ducks when their pond freezes over every winter because they always seem so sad and lost. But I gotta say, they can be a bloody nuisance too. :-/ They mill about all over the small road that goes past their pond. This day I spent about 15 minutes shooing them off so that cars could drive through.

When I returned to my car a while later I was surprised that there were very few of them on the road. Then I looked over to the left. And there they were... marching toward me mainly in single file. The line of them was about three times longer than shown here.

A pair of B36-7s and a GP40-2 lead a TV something under Tift Street at Buffalo. This was just a quick hit as I flew to Buffalo and immediately went north of the border to shoot BIGs and such. I couldn't be bothered by such nuisances in the states such as ConRail. There were also some cool NYC signals close by, and regrettabley I couln't be troubled by those at the time neither.

Usually found on the way into the woods good old brambles, nuisance for many months of the year, but come the autumn the blackberries make for a lovely pudding! HMM all. Taken late one evening last week just as we entered the golden hour.

Thanks for the faves & comments

I have seen him a couple of times in the last week. Both times on the same Petunia in our garden. Since he is a rare sighting for me I decided to try and find out something about him. Apparently he is seen all across North America and in most other places of the world although he often goes unnoticed . They act as pollinators in the garden but in the larva form can destroy plants and are considered a nuisance.

(We're into Dad's second week of holidays, and we thought we'd take you onto the Prescott-Russell Trail with us today for a good look around. The series shown is put together from walks over the past week or so.

After this we will be taking a break from Flickr for a couple of weeks to re-energize us for the future. We in no way are tiring of the experience, but we need to think things over and possibly re-assess our direction.)

1. Beginnings

This first photo shows where we sometimes start our walks. On the other side of this barrier is a road that intersects the Trail, and also a small parking lot we sometimes use so we can start our walks here where the Trail is more open and therefore the bugs are less of a nuisance.

There weren't many ( if any) other true yellow flowers n the garden yesterday and they are quite beautiful as flowers - not so fussed on them once they become the headed corona of seeds, though I do appreciate that they're not as deadly, but almost as much of a nuisance mind you. Stay safe and thanks for stopping

On the 16th of January it snowed for the first time this winter in Amsterdam. Because the temperature was around freezing, the snow stayed there for a while. It only got a few centimeters of snow. The best advice is to stay indoors and turn the stove up a bit. Or of course to go outside to take some nice pictures. In addition to the nuisance, the snow also provides a lot of fun for children here in Amsterdam's Jordaan. Snowball fight, make snowmen or go sledding. All fun activities that children do in this beautiful snowy world. Those who think away for a while can imagine themselves in Hendrick Avercamp's world today. The snow was enough for a few hours of uninhibited winter fun in the streets of Amsterdam. Earlier in the afternoon it was still quiet on the gray canals, since the first snow had stuck to the ground by four o'clock, the neighborhood has turned out for an hour of carefree winter entertainment. The chance that the snow will still be there tomorrow morning seems quite small. During the night the snow may turn into rain and during the day it will be about 6 degrees.

This evening I walk in my neighbourhood and made some beautiful photos of a little layer of snow. The virgin white carpet of snow is crunching under my shoes. I began to remember why I love the winters so much. This time around, the canals remained relatively ice-free. The snow is a rare highlight in dark days, especially when you have small children. It is quite difficult to come up with something fun in these Covid lockdown days. After a while, sitting inside gets pretty monotonous for such a young kid. This is a welcome change. Photo taken here at the Lijnbaansgracht and Westerkade in Amsterdam.

Sneeuwballen gevecht, sneeuwpoppen maken of sleetje rijden.

One of the eight gray squirrels that unfortunately call our backyard home. They are masters at breaking into the bird feeders, and I've tried everything in the book to dissuade them It is amazing that a creature that looks so cute and innocent can be such a nuisance! I've learned to tolerate them and enjoy photographing them, despite our love/hate relationship. Backyard wildlife.

A small shrubbing herbaceous perennial with soft, mid green leaves and violet-blue coloured flowers. The foliage of this plant is dormant through winter and sprouts again in spring. The flowers begin as plump, inflated balloon-like buds and open to bright star shaped blooms which flower abundantly across summer. Great for cottage gardens, rockery gardens, and potted colour.

After days of rain we have had 2 days of lovely sunshine. My new plant has lots of buds and flowers appearing. The rain is supposed to come back on Wednesday which is a nuisance as we are beginning bathroom renovations tomorrow.

The young bird on the left was eager to let the parent bird feed him some seed but he was being taught a lesson and dad refused to succumb to the bobbing and pleading. Eventually the young bird plucked up the courage to jump onto the feeder and get the seed for himself. These ring-necked parakeets are actually a nuisance in the garden being very noisy and eating all the seed leaving none for the smaller birds but they are very amusing to watch as they slowly and acrobatically climb around the feeders to get the best position and the most seed.

I think I'll pass.

So I went to find my band of lowlands chamois again, and luckily I saw two of them, in spite of people walking their dogs in the area plus the biggest nuisance of them all, offroad mountain bikers. I'd gladly prepare a purple mushroom dish for these jerks 👿.

Anyway, have a wonderful and sunny Sunday everybody!

Distribution -- As a group, flesh flies occur throughout most areas of the world although species distribution varies. Flesh flies are found in urban and rural communities but, fortunately, are relatively uncommon in houses or restaurants. They breed in excrement, decaying vegetable matter and animal flesh or meat.

Adult flies do not bite but feed on a wide range of liquid substances. Most larvae infest wounds, carrion or excrement. The larvae of some species of flesh flies are beneficial in that they prey on eggs, nymphs, or larvae of more harmful insects. Lesser house fly larvae, blow fly larvae, and grasshopper nymphs are common hosts of flesh flies.

Though they can carry leprosy bacilli, flesh flies usually are not problems as disease carriers or even as nuisances and pose little threat to human welfare or to livestock. A few cases are known in which flesh fly maggots have burrowed from wounds into the healthy flesh of livestock, and some species can cause intestinal pseudomyiasis (infection by fly larvae) in humans who consume food contaminated with larvae.

As a landscape astrophotographer, I have a very ambivalent relationship with clouds. When I am out shooting, I basically want clear skies. Clouds are considered a nuisance.

On the other hand, it is undeniable that clouds can add a lot of mood to a scene, if they are in the right position.

That's a big if though. It seems that most clouds have a tendency to block the Milky Way, while leaving the uninteresting parts of the sky clear. I call them the bad clouds.

While shooting with @benjaminbarakat at this tranquil lake in the Swiss Alps, the lenticular clouds were however mostly hugging the the horizon, blocking the worst of the light pollution and nicely framing the Milky Way. Even the small cloud in front of the galactic core carefully positioned itself so as not to block any important part. Those were definitely good clouds.

The morning sun is in my eyes and a long stretch of the Prescott-Russell Trail is behind me, which used to be a rail line, and also which, now that the mosquitoes are becoming a nuisance in the wetter areas, will be more often our place of walking instead of the Mer Bleue Bog Conservation Area.

This pic is actually two weeks closer to my 3 1/2 year mark on the 16th (May) than my 'offical' one posted at the same time as this one today. It proves I'm all grown up--but I sometimes still feel like a puppy!

hahhahha..... that makes me laugh. But, on some Flickr sites, that is what I have seen them called.

Oh, alright... he does look sort of majestic... they are pretty big and are nice colours, and have an unusually long tail....but, honestly? around here ... we just call them a nuisance and they are good scavengers. If they try to build a nest in any neighbours' trees I try to discourage them. I don't want to hear that raucous noise at 4 am in the summer months.... yikes!

This photo is from the same time as yesterday's Flicker in the Hawthorn right beside this photo. A late fall shot when it was still nice and dry, and the leaves were all crispy and still on the ground.... always some pretty colour and lots of texture. I like how the white on them always looks so clean and snowy white.

Bloody things, zooming around on pavements and generally being an effin’ nuisance….in my day etc, etc

Belgium’s largest fair, the 'Sinksenfoor' in Antwerp at its traditional home along the docks. The 7 weeks-long fair has been the source of much controversy since residents living in Zuiderdok filed a complaint against the fair as a public nuisance.
