Over 100 Bald Eagles could be seen in the trees by a field in Sheffield Mills, Nova Scotia in January 2010. In the winter, local chicken farmers gather dead chicks and feed them to the eagles. The eagles have made an impressive comeback in Nova Scotia.

It was a very bright and cold day. The sun reflected off of the snow and provided excellent lighting for the underside of the bird.

Moon at 11.2 days from New Moon. Phase at 86% of Full Moon. Whole moon photo with Nikon D300 camera at prime focus with a 155 mm refractor. The enlargement used same camera and telescope except a 2x barlow was added.
