DESCRIPTION: Smurfette was a clumsy and ugly creation of Gargamel's meant to cause chaos through jealousy, hate and lust in the Smurf Village.
This did not work since Smurfette was so ugly but through the benevolent magics of Papa Smurf, Smurfette became a blonde bombshell.
Smurfette's new looks and pleasant personality eventually led to some success of Gargamel's plan as her beauty did cause the other Smurfs to vie for her affections often resorting to violence.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: My twins have been watching Smurfs lately. /shrugs.
FUN FACT: This is my wife's favorite character!
Marvel Universe display is finally looking presentable to me. Legends will join the Marvel Room eventually.

The last thing to do was to paint the "kill stripes", a set of yellow - orange bars on the side of the helmet.
To complete the mandibles, I added purple (a mix of Caboose Red with a drop or two of dark blue and a touch of brown).

The first part of the body to become a part of the carbonite block were the feet. I used a couple of ship sterns.
Ended up 29th of 279 riders...
...despite the shuttle bending my rear hanger causing my chain to suck into my spokes around the 20km mark, losing about 5 minutes, poor shifting throughout, and some gears not working for most of the ride!
This is the completed cast with all parts attached, primed and ready for paint. This is where the fun begins...

Bart was born after I made a Homer Simpson model. I didn't remember I had the yellow pieces used to make the hair (car bumpers from a Hasbro Tente set). After finding them, the rest was easy.
...Okay, bad joke.

I started this project in January 2020, with a pile of cardboard and a set of templates from The Dented Helmet forum. Once I'd built the basic shape I started to harden it using epoxy resin.
With the dome and the cheeks done, I started work on the trim and the mandibles. First I masked off the silver and sprayed on Model Masters Caboose Red, mixed with a touch of brown. This is not as orange as it looks in this shot - this was taken late at night, and the yellow LED in my desk lamp played havoc with the colour balance on my iPhone!

Probably best viewed large unless you have really good eyesight.
I have masked off all the areas of the dome that remain silver, using Humbrol maskol. The next step was to paint on a layer of Panzer Olive Green.
