I can understand very well why people are yearning for Norway. The light up there is amazing.

The Sognefjord is Norway's longest and deepest fjord and one of its arms, the Nærøyfjord, is a Unesco World Heritage Site.

Yesterday we had a Nor'easter, good thing only 6" of snow around us. In Boston, it got 2ft of snow, plus strong wind, etc. Of course, took an outing to the park near me. It's freezing tho.

Henningsvær is a fishing village in Vågan Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located on several small islands off the southern coast of the large island of Austvågøya in the Lofoten archipelago. The village is located about 20 kilometres (12 mi) southwest of the town of Svolvær. Henningsvær is connected to the rest of Vågan via the Henningsvær Bridges. The village is mostly located on the islands of Heimøya and Hellandsøya.

The 0.3-square-kilometre (74-acre) village has a population (2018) of 510 which gives the village a population density of 1,700 inhabitants per square kilometre (4,400/sq mi).[1] Due to its traditional fishing village architecture, Henningsvær draws many tourists. Climbing and diving/snorkeling are also popular tourist activities. Henningsvær Church is located in the village, on the island of Heimøya.

Geiranger fjord in Norway.

Cold, windy, rainy, summer is not the same as in other parts of Europe

During the ice ages, deep valleys and narrow inlets filled with ocean water, creating the natural wonders that the modern world often refers to as fjords. Although there are many fjords across the globe, the ones that grace the Norwegian coastline reign as the most popular because of their astonishing beauty. Hundreds of cruise ships bring tourists to Norway every year to experience these marvelous inlets. However, the mountains and villages surrounding the Norwegian fjords also offer many incredible sights and adventures.

We revisited our summer holiday space on the Lofoten from 3 years ago when we first visited the archipelago. Arriving there today with everything closed down and not a single soul in sight was such a special moment. The weather contributed with some fog and especially moody light and the result was a kind of zen landscape that touched our hearts and memories.
