It's not very often that I post two photos but I thought it would be useful to add to my previous post. This is a 4 shot panorama view of the same image showing the full view including the reed beds in front of the bird hide which will hopefully yield some decent images come breeding season.

This periwinkle has taken root halfway up the ancient stone wall of our garden. Many thanks to the bird who is presumably responsible.

This is one of several small reservoirs nestling in the hills to the north of Northampton. This 114 acre water park operated by Anglian Water is also used by anglers, walkers and those interested in wildlife. The reservoir was completed in 1890 and initially supplied water to Northampton via a ten mile-long 16 inch trunk main. These days Ravensthorpe Water Treatment works supplies six and a half million litres of water a day to 18,000 people from the north of Northampton to Daventry and Rugby in the west.
